Is the PS3 slim coming??

Got to say if it is true I did not expect a ps3 slim this soon (espcially not before a price cut). It could be a cheap chinese knock off like the vii but the box looks way too official (even shows it has a 120GB hard drive). Although I do prefer the look of the original chunky ps3.

It looks to be as if Sony just squashed the PS3. The PS2 slims were redesigned to look more stylish while keeping true to the original, while this looks exactly as the original just flat. I hope that's not the final design.

I don't know, I enjoy the way my PS3 looks right now. I never really got into the "Slimming" thing. My PS2 is still as fat as it was when I bought it!

Can't see much since it looks like just the top plastic cover. (no body or hardware pictured)
The plain black plastic looks a bit cheap and doesn't look really smaller. The shell looks like it is quite similar to the current PS3 except no style beyond the same shape. Top dome with disc slot. Bottom part with power, network etc on the back and USB on the front.

I like the way it looks now ... and it's not too enormous or anything. Certainly haven't had a hard time making it fit.

I never jumped on the PS2 slim thing either ... then again I guess if you didn't already have one it might be the tipping point.
