Is the Sound stuttering Hurting my FPS that bad?

I have a Dell 8300 with a 3.2 GHz HT P4, 1GIG of ram and the ATi X800 Pro running with all 16 pipes unlocked at 520/560 on stock cooling. I ran the time demos that [H]ardOCP put out and my scores came no where near what they reported. For instance in the test d1_canals_01 I got 80.8 fps when they reported 105.5 fps. Can that be my issue why im not scoring? My card easially scores 12,500 in 3DMark03. My sound is so bad sometimes that I cannot make out what the characters are even saying....
 
You mean the patch were they say to lower the settings, if thats the "patch" then lol, it didnt make a difference
