When Steam first starts up it evaluates your pc and sets game settings accordingly. Is there any way to force steam to re-scan your pc. I read something about deleting a file called client-something.blob
It's called ClientRegistry.blob & is located in your main Steam folder. Just delete it & load Steam. Deleting that file usually solves most problems you may have with Steam. A well-known "trick" since Steam Beta days
