i know it wouldnt make much sence in hl2 since u r not in black mesa and all that stuff nemore , but i really hope they put it in coz they are pretty darn fun to go through before u start the game.

Ya it would be cool but i wouldnt mind at all if they didnt add it.

Maybe they'll have it half-way through the game when you start getting your weapons. Eli makes sure you still know what you're doing, etc.

There is a training course of sorts. I am not sure, but I believe it is integrated into the game, and if so, fairly early on of course.

There was a training course in the beta, but the 6th test didnt work
Its just like HL1 its indoors, and looks a lot like the BM training...well...kinda

Cool, now I know there is a training mode. That's all you needed to tell me and everyone. Don't spoil anything. :)

i saw a screenshot of the hazard course somewhere.. but i think those sceenies are gone now.

Well you have to train since gordon just woke up or something after 10 years........

Well, there has been a really cool thread on this in the past, that had some good ideas. But one person ruined it by telling everyone...

(not sure if this is 100% true but better safe than sorry.)

When you first see Eli Vance early in the game, he offers you some training.

one of these day's I'll realise that sometimes, Spoiler tags are used to hide something other that semi-witty comments.

PS, does your sig need an extra e at the end?

edit: scratch that last bit... I guess I missed part of the joke. Congratulations on making it a little funny, I liked using that joke occasionally before Sara Cox did it five times a day until it lost all meaning for me.

***Real spoiler tag usage, not fake.

You receive training by the Gman at the start of the game. Part of how you wake up after 10 years, and how you mysteriously end up in City 17

@Chode - No you don't. Its will be an option when you choose your difficulty of game such as Half-Life 1. For example:

-Hazard Course
-Easy
-Normal
-Hard

Enough beta talk folks. :|

I haven't played the beta. Its pretty obvious.

G-man giving you a training course with ruin the feel for the game and his unexplained background.

the irritating spoiler equation:

The annoyance of spoiling the game for yourself is equal to the nagging feeling that everyone else knows something cool about HL2 that you don’t.

I bet its integrated into game at start. And when you get new special weapon from some scientist, he'll probably let you so some target practise first. Or i hope so, makes more sense than: 'her's your new weapon, now go kill stuff'.

I would imagine that if there was a propper training bit that it'd be done by resistance fighters underground :D

and hopefully we'd get a bit of story before hand :)

It wouldnt be a dream sequence, that would be nothing like half-life, i think its just characters through the game tell you how to use things, gravity gun etc.

From the PCG UK review, I think Alyx is the training.

I've read the PC Gamer UK review and I can't recall reading that Alyx trains you. What part was it in?

"Alyx ensures Gordon understands vital elements of his experience"

And then there's this, which looks exactly like she's teaching you about the manip and this, which among many things :)naughty:) suggests to me that she is helping Gordon back on his feet after trying to do something (Sorry, that's the most innuendo-less way of putting it).
