Is this an alright HSF?

My P43.0E prescott is running at 41c (idle). Do you guys think this HSF would cool it down? If not, can you recommend me one that will? I'm trying to keep it below 50 bucks.

btw I have a socket 478 mobo.

ThermalTake HSFs have a reputation for being very loud, but very cool

Yeah it will do the job but loudly.

This with a 80mm or 92mm fan would do better cooling and you can choose how loud it would be since you pick the fan.

Don't forget the Arctic Silver 5 compound.

I was going to recommend that, but wasn't sure if it would fit his board. I thought that the xp-90 was just for lg-754 (or whatever socket that is, I don't know p4's) and A64's?

But yeah, awesome cooler. I have an xp-90. I'm running this on it right now. Good fan. Quite, and blows a hell of a lot of air.

It's for Sockets 754 and 478. He has a Socket 478 processor. LGA775 is the new P4s
