Is this any good?

I have that one, and I highly recommend it to everyone else!
If you have a good overclocking motherboard I would recommend you getting the E6300 as it overclocks just as well as the E6400.

I bought mine OEM from ebay for ?117 and I use an arctic 7 cooler, it overclocks to 2.8ghz on my rubbish motherboard which idles at approx 40C, So i reckon this CPU can do well over 3Ghz on a good mobo. :)
At the moment it is 36C @ 2.41ghz and has been on for about 5 hours.

excellent cpu, you can overclock it to 3.0GHZ easily

If you plan on overclocking, you might want to wait for the e4000 series. They will be similar in performance, but they operate at a much lower fsb. That way you can reach higher clockspeeds without stressing out the mainboard. The mainboard is the limiting factor in overclocking the e6000 series 90% of the time.

The e4300 will be as expensive as the e6300, operate at 1.8ghz, with a fsb of 200 (multiplier 9). Let's say your mainboard could reach a fsb of 400. That would mean 2.8ghz for the e6300 and 3.6ghz for the e4300.

Also, the e4000 series will all have 4mb L2 cache.
