Hi, am buying a system of a friend who has only had it for 2months. This is the specs.

First of ignore that its a DELL system.

1.8ghz Dual Core (3.0ghz apparently)
NVIDIA 7950GX2 1gig
2gig RAM
320gig HDD
19" Monitor
5.1 Surround sound speaker system

2 years warrenty left on it.

he bought it for around a ?1000 about 2-3 Months ago and he will sell it to me for ?700.

What you guys think? Am a Gamer thru and thru but I havent had the chance to get a new system in 2 years. I dont want to go DX10 yet or Vista so do you think this is good enuf for a DX9 system for atleast a year?

he has a point if its pentium d then it wont be as good. if its core 2 duo GET IT!!!

Ok say I found out that its a E660 Duo Core 2.4ghz.

BTW does that mean that each core is 2.4 which is meant to make it 4.8 ??

An E6600 is a great CPU, well worth it. Each core operates at 2.4 GHz, but that does not add up to 4.8 GHZ. It just means that each core can be doing something at that speed, or working together on something, but it's not like their powers combine.
