I just finished hl2, that game is the greatest fps game I ever played. Now i'm looking for the next game i will play, and i know vampire the masquerade is also made with source engine, i just want to know whether this game is good

the game is awesome, but the graphics aren't as optimized as HL2, so if you don't have a really nice rig you'll likely encounter some graphical problems.

Also, there are several bugs and graphical glitches that need fixing...though rumors are that a patch is on the way.

It's not repetetive like Doom III. I enjoyed Bloodlines, of course I enjoy playing RPG's. If you like RPG's that have a good story, vampires(especially if you like the pen and paper VTM), and some pretty good dialogue, good humor in the dialogue (especially w/ Nosferatu and Malkavian and the majority of the intimidation lines and most of the things that Jack has to say). It does have quite a few bugs, but even with them I feel that it's a pretty good game.

should i but the game when the patch for the game comes out or should i buy it now??

o yea btw is this game like morrowind III:elder scrolls, b/c i liked that game

Newbie's Journey, the game isn't like Doom 3 or Half-Life 2 at all because it isn't even the same genre. VTM:B is not an FPS, it is an RPG like Baldurs Gate, Morrowind or Fallout.

Yep. The game isn't to be compared to FPS games as it is an RPG. I think VmB is just awesome and I've played a lot of RPG's, and FPS games too for that matter. There are one bug that isn't okey to have in a game according to me, but for must people who are accustomed to computers in general and have access to the internet it's easy to overcome the problem. The graphics is too harsh on the computer aswell, but it runs okay on my system so I dont care about that either. Top priority before buying this game should be to have a good cpu and gfx.

I'd glad I bought it. The graphics look good, but as said earlier they aren't as as optimised as you find in HL², which is a pity, and it is occasionally glitchy, you need to ramp the gamma up to the max as well..the game is pretty dark and dingy (I kept instinctively pressing F for flashlight at times...) in some places. Hopefully they will get a patch out pronto to fix these issues (and maybe a flashlight as well). Also the combat is a bit hit and miss (literally) at times, but as long as you save regularly it's no biggie to overcome.

One thing I would say is that once you get past the initial game introduction you should ensure that you do the tutorial levels that the guy you meet outside the theatre offers up, rather than heading to your apartment (they are optional rather than enforced tutorials it seems). Firstly they explain the game mechanics, and secondly you get some equipment out of them (tire iron and a lock pick).

On the positives for the game, I'd say that it has some good humour, good missions, interesting characters and it really shows off Sources facial tech to the max. Some of the characters you meet are really well animated (the mad girl on the beach being an example that springs to mind), and there is a real sense of engagement when you speak with them.

I'd also recommend playing a Malkavian, simply because they have the best lines and seem to garner some really interesting dialog responses.

Yes, great game, as long as you can see past the bugs.

yeah, i bought this game the day it came out along with half life 2 and i have to say, it is awesome. Its kinda like deus ex. It is really fun and i am not a fan of rpgs. The missions are incredible and are fun although some are really annoying, like picking up a briefcase in a parking garage for a guy. But the dialogue is really funny and the people are interesting and the graphics are pretty good. You should definately buy it

Deus Ex never really struck me as a RPG,the story was way too linear, not like morrowind where you could go to any town and do about half of the missions at any time... I hope its nto like that, im gonna buy it tomorrow no matter what though.

what ARE the bugs in this game that i hear about? like you get stuck in walls or crashes to desktop or something?

Well at the moment there are graphical glitches, and some of the quests are broken.

And there is a crash bug half way through the game, but if you know how to fix it, it's a 2 second fix.

I have played it without many bugs at all. I got stuck at one point but noclip got me through. 1 conv is messed up for, but its not an ikportant one. I love the game. Alot of play time for a good price.
