Is this LCD good for gaming?

Yeah, they make good LCDs. But generally not too good on style. hehe
That's because they are a LCD manufacture.

I'd see if you can find reviews on that specific model though.

Hey ASUS how do you find out your monitors response time in ms and what does ms stand for???

for gaming? if i were u, i'd stick with a good old CRT especially with the ghosting issues...i mean if ghosting isn't a huge issue, then by all means go ahead and get the LCD.

personallly i don't like ghosting at all...so for gaming CRT

I have never, EVER had a problem with ghosting. I have an old Dell LCD which I am sure has terrible response time. I have no idea how to check. I have been using it for 2 years and it NEVER performed terribly. Honestly, this is one of the best LCD's. I would not want another.

I don't honestly see what all the fuss is with LCD's with regards to Ghosting. Granted with an LCD to look crisp you have to run it in the native resolution, which for me is 1280x1024, but apart from that mine runs great (and has a response time of 12ms).

As far as dead pixels go I don't think it's manufacturer dependant as to whether you'll get a few on the panel or not. Due to the expensive manufacture process of LCD screens if a panel has 1 or 2 dead/defective pixels they tend to use them and if you buy a TFT screen from a shop who knows what they're talkin about you're ****ed. Luckily I bought mine from Argos though and the first screen I bought had a defective pixel that shone blue right in the middle of the screen.. I took it back and the woman on the returns desk exchanged it for me.. the new one is great though.

ghosting isnt that bad these days at all, and it doesnt happen with everything. I read a review of a BenQ lcd last week, and it got very poor results, eventhough it got a 12ms response time. BUT it was a diff monitor than the one in that picture.

im gonna be investing in a 19" sharp LCD soon enough :D make sure your LCD has a DVI socket, it really is that much better.
