Hey everyone--this is the first time I've played Half Life 2 and I'm not sure if what I'm seeing is normal. It has to do with my character's movement. After I got the suit in the beginning, I'm constantly sprinting. There's also a slight delay when I let go of the 'move up' button. I can't come to a complete stop as soon as I let go of the button, I'll go a foot or two further in direction. I'm thinking that's just how the game is, if so I'll just have to get used to it. It's so annoying, I keep falling off of ledges and bridges etc because these keys are super friggin sensitive.

So, is there a way I can sprint manually? The game says the 'Shift' key is for sprinting. I'm confused.

here're my specs although im sure it has nothing to do with this problem

Abit IC7 Max3 mobo
intel 3.2 Ghz
1 gb corsair ram
ati x800 xt PE

mabye ur keyboard is all grimy or go into control panel and keyboard look around there

hmm no I doubt it..I can stop on a dime in doom3 and farcry. I'm really new to HL2..maybe I just need practice. My game didn't come with a manual..does anyone know how to turn the sprint off and if there's a training mode anywhere?

Hmmmm. After you get the suit, sprinting is then available. For me to sprint, I just hled down shift and forward.

Its not normal going a foot or two in forward direction when you come to a halt. I think there might be a console cmd to stop it, anyone know it?

Somebody pleassssse help me..I want to play the game!!!

I changed the control config back to default settings and it works now. Normally I use the arrow keys to move. I changed them back to wsad and the auto sprint went away.
