Will they be releasing another ipod at the end of this month? I kind of want to buy a video right now but no point in shelling out money for a video when a new ipod is about to come out with more features and possibly more battery life?

Can anyone give me some good advice in this?

The new Ipod "waste your money again like with sims expansions that do nothing new" ........sounds good to me.

Exactly its MY money to waste, I had one before but I lost it. I'm a fiend for music so its not really a waste of money for me I asked a simple question and if you dont know the simple answer dont waste your time responding.

Creatve Zen Touch > all other players

24 hour battery life > 8 hour battery life

function > form

Actually theres another player out that beats the ipod video because video qualty 4hr battery life but the player has horrible software. i love the ipod line mainly because of itunes just makes everything smoother.

here is the player incase you want to upgrade:

I think I'll wait for the price of video players to come down. Until then, I'll stick to just music.

The only reason I have an iPod is because I got it for free in an internet bundle deal. I can play mario on it =D

I don't get the iPod craze - I've got a $40 MP3 player that's super-tiny, good battery life, and it's got an FM radio (NPR fanboy), and holds a day's worth of music. The only drawbacks are: it's not cool and it only holds around a hundred songs (so I have to put a new mix on every week or so). Videos are out for me - I don't want to watch anything on less than a 19" monitor. It's like hooking up crappy headphones to your iPod - a small monitor doesn't do justice to the video the same way crappy headphones don't do justice to the music.

I've got a 2gb iPod Nano...

My only complaint is that only recharges on my laptop now...
Hell it only RESPONDS to my laptop now.
It gives me some stupid "USB Device Unrecognized" crap on both of my computers.
>.<

I so wanted a Creative Zen Touch... but I got the Nano for Christmas, so no complaints in the wasting of money department.

Can anyone actually answer my question. Sorry?

i sell mp3 players and i can honestly tell you ipod has the most complaints/problems out of there class (not all up tho we have some pretty shitty cheapies)... but people lap them up... i get nothing but greif from ipod support --- i ring them to exchange a unit and they tell me to let the customer do it through there warranty so i do and a few days later the customer comes back and says they said to just take it back to us. i then ring back ipod support and tell them to stick there iPod up there iAss. Happens 4 or 5 times a week.

Creative zen vision:M ftw

And no i havent heard of any new one sorry dude.

thanks alot
i think the reason behind this may just be the sheer amount of people that have the product; youre going to get alot more people giving complaints if you sell it to 500 people opposed to selling it just to 50

besides all "the real" ipod people know just to take their ipod to the apple store in real life and they usually exchange it for free if there is no visible damage

the only thing that makes me not like the vision m is their interface to get songs on the player, ie their version of itunes which they dont really have any. and then i want a case for it too and i think it comes with a power adaptor.which is a plus

so burnzie if you could find where i could get these supplies (case and a decent music/video/photo importer for the player) for the czvm i might consider buying it.

however as a mention before after a while (2 yr maybe) the Czvm battery will die and i wont have anything to do with it, do they even support battery replacement i know some of their old smaller models actually came with removable batteries.
thanks in advance.

yeh i understand that the sheer number factor... but i sell irivers to anyone i can pry away from the ipod and they dont come back as much and i sell just as much... there not terrible units at all there kinda cool and i always have a play when i get a new one in but its there tech and warenty support that needs a swift near fatal beating sometimes...

as for the accesorys the creative websight has a bunch if i remeber correctly but your right they are nowhere near as readaly avalible. as for batterys all batterys die... ipods and all and yeh they replace the battery via a service center but a removable battery would have kicked ass.... only the smaller models seem to have em.

My opinion was the same until I went to Birmingham on a lengthy trip with a friend and his iPod video. The screen isn't that bad and we had fun watching the A-Team on it. Great for long journeys, though that's exactly the thing: My friend works in London so he's constantly on the tube and in need of something to do on the journey. The Ipod video is ideal for that kind of thing, but pretty pointless for anyone like me who doesn't Journey much at all. Though, you can get a video-out cable and have it as a rather effective video-jukebox.

It's got a non-removable, non-standard battery? Begone, wretch!

yes because apple is not known for innovation :upstare:

have you ever even used anything with the apple logo on it?

Macrumor reports on a possible bluetooth headphones upgrade to the video ipods, and a new widescreen version ... they're usually pretty accurate so I'd hold off a bit if I were you

...and if it is the 6th generation then you can bet they'll expand battery life. Apple has also bought up/partnered with a number of high capacity flash drive technology companies ..apple in the near future could drop harddrives all together and just use flash drives like in the nano line of ipods

...it's their 30 th anniversary, they'll come out with something to celebrate just like they did their 25th

Expect an announcement tommorrow or monday as April 1st is their anniversary date

I have heard nothing of a new ipod
But, if you just want one for the music, try tracking down just a regular ipod photo. I got one cheap when the video came out and I LOVE it. When it dies, the store I bought it at will replace it with whatever the new model is (the video) and I'm just going to sell it and try to find a 60gb photo on ebay or something

Thanks for all the replies. Im ging to wait until probably middle next month

I was thinking about doing something similar to this but I figured the video would be more stylish and today ab.e

Creative Zen Vision:M, ftmfw. In all seriousness, look at other products as well and not jump straight onto the bandwagon. Just check the facts: the Vision:M comes in 5 or 6 colors; it has six times the amount of colors in the screen than the iPod video; it has twice the battery life for videos than the iPod video. A couple downsides are that it is about a 1/2 thicker than the iPod video (a little less than a quarter thick) but it feels good in your hands. Ever feel a Nano? It feels like it's going to slip out of your hands (at least to me) and the Vision:M has some body to it.

iPods are like sexy women loaded with STD's

I have a Nano and I'm quite happy with 4 gigs of space, I really cbb to spend $300 on another one (especially the video iPod, wtf am I gonna watch on a 1.5 inch screen?)

Actually, I had the same point of view about a small screen. It's actually quite nice when you watch a movie on it, however.

no one reads my post ;(

the rumour is the new ipod will have a wide screen

I don't care if they phase phase out the 60GB iPod Video, I just hope they still keep the 30GB one. I want a video iPod but I don't think my wallet would like the rumored widescreen one very much.

thats because the customer is afraid of sending their ipod through the mail or that it will take forever. at my work place we jsut send them out for them if they are too lazy.(a webform isnt that much trouble). and you think apples warrenty is bad, just try creative to fix anything decently
