NEW DELHI: Central security agencies on Saturday night said that banned Harkat-ul-Jehadi Islami militant outfit of Bangladesh was possibly behind the twin blast in Hyderabad in which 30 people were killed.

Sources in New Delhi said that there could be similarities between the explosives used in Mecca Masjid blast in Hyderabad in May this year and tonight?s explosion.

It was suspected that Shahid and Bilal, who were the masterminds of the Meacca Masjid blast, were also behind tonight?s explosion.

Shahid is reported to be in Karachi and is instrumental in bringing people for arms training from Hyderabad.

Update: 44 killed, and a third bomb disarmed.

HYDERABAD: Hours after the twin blasts on Saturday evening, the city police recovered a live bomb from Dilsukhnagar area and defused it in time, averting another tragedy.

The bomb was planted underneath a foot-over-bridge with a timer set for 9.30 pm, police sources said.

The near-simultaneous blasts at Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat Bhandar were triggered by cell-phone timers, Bangalore Police Commissioner Balwinder Singh told reporters.

So far, 11 bodies have been identified and five of them are women. One of the deceased was a house surgeon of Osmania Medical College who hailed from Prakasam district.

Meanwhile, TDP President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu alleged the incidents were a result of intelligence failure.

BJP leaders M Venkaiah Naidu and B Dattatreya strongly condemned the incident and said it was time for the governments to act tough against foreign terrorist groups.

They accused the Congress government of adopting a soft approach towards terror groups which have been targeting the city.

State secretary of CPM B V Raghavulu said the blasts appeared to be a pre-planned terror attack.

I read with interest that the RAF have decided to replace the nude paintings of popular tit models like Lucy Pinder and Michelle Marsh on the side of their bombers for fear of offending the thousands of Muslims they are currently bombing the shit out of. I wholeheartedly applaud this display of sensitivity from one culture to another.

Yeah, but that's a debate. People think different things about it and it's a fault line of political discourse.

Meanwhile, what the hell is there to discuss about this? Nobody likes terrorists anyway, or islam for that matter. That the replies to this thread are all jokes, variations on 'oh no' or random chatter speaks volumes.

True enough, but there is a certain irony to be found here...I could practically write Solaris' posts for him and nobody would be able to tell the difference.
 
Perhaps, but Solaris hasn't to my knowledge flooded the forum with these stupid threads that make no arguments and pose no questions.

In all of them Nemesis gives us a news report that is vaguely suggestive of some point or other (muslims are nasty! So is Somalia) but he never actually puts forward a point of his own; he is aggressively declining to comment, making his submissions essentially polemical with no substance.

I regard this as spam/trolling and he's thusly recieving an infraction. The politics forum is for political debate. It is not for broadsiding your worldview under a veil of newsheet neutrality.

If Solaris ever creates this volume of rubbish, he'll get similar treatment, believe me.
