Not so long ago they upgraded my internet connection to a 1mbit line, free of charge. Last night, they upgraded it to a 2mbit line...free of charge

Remember, this is the UK...10mbit lines are just hear say. Talking about 100mbit lines will see you crusified for blasphemy against all that is holy, as such things are not possible.

Yeah but thats only for people getting it now. We've actually kept the same deal since we first got broadband years ago, but its just been upgraded every so often.

They'll put the download limit on all connections, even ones bought before they upgraded the lines. NTL are doing the same to us, they're upgrading my 700kB connection to a 2 MB one and putting download limits on.

I'm with BT at the moment and I may get home tonite to find 2mb too!

I got the same letter, and it said it was being capped (yes I thought they would not cap existing customer's download limits, but from the way it's worded in the letter I think it will be).

Anyway, last weekend when I got this letter I decided to finally join Bulldog, and I will be getting 4mb uncapped on March 1st!

Anyone else here with Bulldog?

They make you think that they upgraded because they're nice to their customers. The truth is that they probably had to upgrade for whatever reason, and decided to make it out as if they were doing it just to be nice.

Telewest Blueyonder did this for free a while ago too from 512 up to 1mb. The only problem is that they didn't upgrade the upload limit, just the download, which sucks balls.

I jumped onto the Wanadoo bandwagon when they upgrading all their customer's to 1mbit... Thought it was a great deal. Now everyone is getting more than me. It's not fair ;(

I pay about $70 per month for a 4Mb connection without any DL limits. Of course I get no where near that speed...ever. It really sucks quite a bit to be honest. All that money for a really iffy connection and no alternative company to go to.
