isn't there a kind of default boned character that you can customize, in the shape of a human. It would be really helpful. because editing the model of somenone of HL² isnt good, and setting up your own bones hierachy is sooo ****ing defficult.

(my english is really bad :) )

and.... is it possible to make a model in 3dmax... texture it, and rig/ or bone it also in 3dmax... and export it to XSI softimage without any problems ?!

yeh ok, well... I DONT :P but ok i'll try ! thanks anyway

thats good to hear. I was about to ask teh very same question. Wouldn' mind making a L33t Kr3w model; looks more terrorist-y in my opinion.

and you still don't need to export it to XSI.
If you make your model in 3DS, texture it, rig it and animate it, then you can use the SMD exporter to create the basis for your model. That's all that importing to XSI would help you to do, so cut out the middle man.

yeah ok... before HL² was released (it sounds like a virus :P ) there was this movie on the internet where you see this dude from valve blaabing about exporting from XSI to SMD exporte, and i thought it wasnt possible to do that with MAX... but ok, i get the point. thanks ! :D

just load the the default character studio skeleton, and edit it to fit your model, and yes you can model / unwrap / texture / rig / pose / animate in 3dsmax, and i beleive you can export it into XSI (not sure about that)
