I downloaded Mozilla Firefox last night and it is now my current web browser. I have just encountered a problem this morning with it. I go to my homepage, which is Comcast.net, and it only displays text and hyperlinks but no icons or anything like that. It's weird and I was wondering if anyone can help me with this problem. I have the latest version of everything so that is not a problem. Do I have to enable something or disable something so those objects can be seen?
There aren't any pictures of objects like before when I had IE.
Thank you.

Did you restart?
Yes, I restarted the computer last night I think. I'll try it again right now.
Also, I just noticed I can't input smilies! Oh god help me!

Oh wait...I can't insert hyperlinks, too! God this sucks.

EDIT: Restarting didn't help at all. I also can't use anything now. No bold, italics, or underlining. Please help me!

Now, a lot of the sites I go to look weird. :(

To let you know more, I went to Tools -> JavaScript Console. I noticed that it is all errors. Every single one down the list is errored. Does Firefox have a problem with Java?

Can anyone help me!? I'm in dire need of help right now. I have been trying to fix the problem using google and trying to find a solution to this mess. No luck. :(

there are java extensions i think, just download some extensions that you think you might need or just any old cool extension (FoxyTunes).
Go Bookmarks ---- Firefox and mozilla links ---- Themes and extensions

How do I restart firefox?
If I remeber correctly when you install Firefox it has you choose a java platform to run on. Perhapse reinstall and look at those selections again.

Firefox should display that page just fine. I would make sure java is installed for Firefox, or if it is already then reinstall java for it. I'm not sure why you are having this issue.

I've reinstalled Firefox. I have even downloaded the latest Java and all that jazz. Still, problems are occurring. Websites look weird and are missing things from it. I still can not insert smilies or make things bold, italics, or underlined. I get many popups saying "timed out" or something.

I'm actually thinking about going back to IE. These hassles aren't worth it.
I can't even access my Comcast email since that page is all messed up.

I still don't know how to restart firefox. :(

I had the same problem. It is one of your extension that you installed that is causing your problems. If not, try reinstalling your video card drivers, mine somehow started corrupting java applications.

Restarting firefox = restart computer

Trust me, firefox is much better than IE once you get used to it.

Nevermind everyone. IT'S FIXED!!! :) :) Smilies galore! :D :x  :stare: :hmph: :( :naughty:
But I still do have one minor problem. I sometimes get an alert message saying "the operation timed out when attempting to contact 216.127.90.24."
What does this mean??? 90% of the time, it happens on this site when trying to post.

I have miscellaneous questions too. How do I disable icons in the system tray? I have about 7 or 8. I don't want all of them to be there. I think it slows down my startup. I tried right-clicking the icons and disabling them or exiting them but that didn't work. Help please.

Can anyone help?
I keep receiving this Alert Message when visiting this site.
The operation timed out when attempting to contact 216.127.90.24.

What is this all about? What can I do?

I get it as well. I belive the google advertisements are on the fritz right now. Don't worry, it is not firefox's fault. It is google's problem.

start -> run -> type "msconfig" -> click the "startup" tab -> deselect the programs you don't need to start up with your computer.

Thank you, blahblahblah. Everything if just dandy now. No problems whatsoever or questions. Now, my system tray isn't so filled with junk and my PC boots up a lot quicker. :D

But I do have more problem. I do not know if it is from the google advertisements or what.
I get this popup on this site, too.
ALERT!
The item contains no data.

Is this also a good ad problem?

Thanks for the answer.

But...when will this end? The popups, I mean.

Run -> MSConfig -> Startup tab -> Uncheck what you dont want to start up -> Apply/Ok. and you may reboot. but be careful what you disable.
