it wont let me delete the partition!!!!!!!!!

im using the winxp disk to format my computer and when i get to the blue screen where it says press d to delete the selected partition, i press d and it says it cant be done because there are setup files on it neccesary to complete the installation. plz help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeh it won't let you delete teh files since the actual xp installation is using that partition to install itself. if there aren't any other partitions listed then you should just be able to go ahead and use that partition, I would imagine that its the same size as your hard disc yeh?
