A terrified pup lies embedded in the grille of a car - after being hit at more than 70mph.
The year-old pet was carried 15 miles after being scooped up in the front of a Peugeot 207.
Miraculously he escaped with a broken leg and bruising after being spotted when stunned driver Marco Menozzi arrived home at Cozze, southern Italy. He is now in a dog pound where vets are trying to find him a new owner.
A police spokesman said: "He's a very lucky boy. He was saved because he was hit so hard. Any softer and he would have bounced off and been crushed under the wheels."
how was the driver unaware he had hit a dog?
