I've just started playing it again...haven't played it since the .75 patch, now it's to .808, getting closer to that 1.0 It's awesome fun, the cities are much better developed now (read: they don't suck and there's alot less empty space), there are new weapons, new options, arenas in every city, graphics are improved, the game is just damn fun.
It's the only game I've ever played where a battle started, I looked at the army forming behind me, and said "this is epic"
The battles are beautiful, a site to behold. There's economic options as well, you can trade between cities. There's warring factions, you can jump in on any battle you like.
Combat is realistic, no more dice rolling. Combos make sense (for example you get speed bonuses on horseback, this REALLY helps with lances. Sitting on a stationary horse swinging with a sword gets you nowhere), and there's alot of instant kills if you know what you're doing. It's all very fast paced, try fighting in a mountainous forest, the battles are all over the place, it's beautiful. Riding on a horse is actually a thrill.
In short, this shareware game is about as good if not better than alot of games made by major developers. I've had more fun at this game than almost any game I've played in the past 2 years. While the graphics aren't excellent, they're still easy on the eyes and don't detract from the experience. It's got hours upon hours of gameplay, basically you stop playing when you're bored with it, and it's REALLY hard to get bored with this game.
And it's just gotten better. For a game that is still most definitely in the beta stage, I can only think of 2 truly nagging bugs (namely: bad pathfinding around mountains on the map and weapons sometimes not working properly (very rare)), and very few if any other minor bugs.

It's the full game you're just capped at character level 6. It's fun up to that point, sure, but you really should get the full game to truly appreciate it. Just wait 'til you have a massive army backing you up and you're assaulting a bandit castle, then you'll see what I mean.
