It's official, the Xbox 360 has a confirmed launch date.

This reminds me of the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.. You know where Willy Wonka sends out the 5 Golden Tickets that everyone anticipates.. It just has that Wonkaesque to it..

So it'll arrive in North America in 68 days. I'm still having my doubts on whether or not it is a worthy investment.

i hope the europe release date is the same for australia ( they're normally the same .. ).

lemonking, good call, 15 yr old cs kid.

Yeah that was a rather lame call by Lemonking wasn't it.

The release dates should be the same. You're in PAL just like us.

I'm not sure wether i want one of these. It does seem interesting, and it's not too pricey. We'll see.

I have a question about the xbox 360, and maybe one of you has the answer, if not, i shall have to get off my ass and find it out for myself

:D

The xbox 360 supports hdtv, which is nice.... if you have an hdtv compliant lcd tv. otherwise i assume you don't get the same resolution picture. What i would like to know however, is if it is possible to plug an xbox360 into and lcd computer monitor ?

Good question. I suppose you could try emailing the guys over at Gamespot who do that mailbag thing. Whats that guys name? Alex Navarro or something? He should know.

lemonking, if you're 17, i'll eat all my underwear, socks and chris martins asshole

"November 22 2006"

the date that the xbox360 will be at a more reasonable price point ..I figure at least 20% of the price of the launch date price ..by then ps3 will be out and established and they'll both be competeing for audience share ...prefect time for Stern to consider getting one ...till then I'll just play the majority of xbox360 games on my pc

Excellent :)

All my hopes are with PD0 now - don't let us down Rare!!

(and yeh - it was a lame call by lemonking. The kind of thing A 12 year old might say ;) )

Lemonking= rabid fanboy? Anyways, Microsoft is having a pre-TGS event right now. Gamespot has some videos but the real TGS will be tomorrow. I still can't decide over an Xbox 360 or Playstation 3. I think I might get a current generation console seeing how they're cheaper.

Absolutely, provided you get the VGA adapter - you'll be able to use 720p and 1080i on it so long as the resolutions are supported by the monitor.

Anyway, the 10 days of difference is a little annoying, but it's a huge step up from the 6 month delay for the Xbox.

Have you seen the OXM scans? (Once again, I must stress please no linking to them) The game looks radically different from the older alpha screens, and by radically different I mean it's f-ing beautiful now.

Lemonkings like that.

I'm still not sure whether I'm going to get one...

Yay, Now all I need is an HDTV, a wireless internet adapter, an xbox live subscription, a dvd kit, 3 extra conrtollers, and at least 5 good games.
yay. :|

Hmm... now that it's actually on the horizon, I am seriously considering. How much will it be in the UK?

My friends will shout at me and call me rich if I do get one though. Especially as I have only played on my XBox a handful of times.

Depends on which version you want. The Premium version is £280 and comes with the 20Gb Hard Drive, component cable, a wireless controller and a headset. The Core version is £209, which doesn't come with the Hard Drive, there's only Scart cables, a wired controller and no headset. Bear in mind that you'll need a memory card for the Core version as well, which will set you back £15-20.

What is the list of games to buy on December 2 in UK ?
and premium is the whay to go ! you will need all this stuff..
btw cool thing with headset is they connect on wireless controller. they take power from batteries in controller.

Room mates will probably buy it but im just waiting for Revolution details, as long as I think it can hold its own against the PS3 and 360 thats what I will be buying.

I have indeed, and it looks great :)

At first I was a little concerned about the various context senstive actions mentioned in the article, as well as the rolling and dodging, but am willing to see how it pans out before passing judgement. Otherwise, it's my most anticipated game by far \o/

£280 quid hmm? How much could I sell an almost brand new XBox Crystal for?

I estimate around £60-70, as that's what I'm going to flog my slimline PS2 for.

60-70 quid? Whoa. More than I expected. I suppose that will drop drastically when the 360 is released. And even if I don't buy a 360, I could use the money.
