Great! I was really looking forward to DMC3, I loved the first one and was bitterly disappointed with the second, can't wait now!

Yay! I was just checking out the screens on IGN and was thinking to myself, "This had better be more like DMC 1 and almost nothing like DMC 2"

Did they go back to the upgrade system of DMC1 where you buy and upgrade moves? What's the combat like? Please tell me guns aren't as overpowered as they were in DMC2.

INFOOOOO!

EDIT: LOL Dante jammin' on his "electric guitar"

EDIT2: uhhh ok. I said that electric guitar bit as a joke because I thought he might be mid-animation when they took the shot...but every shot with him holding that thing he looks like he's about to bust a huge power chord. Explanation?

EDIT3: Ok...I'm pretty sure it's a guitar weapon. Looks like he just jammed out a badass chord and this guy went flying

When I read that I loled.

The game looks sweet. If it isn't like DMC2 it's going to be one of the few games I'm getting this year.

I'm reading the latest IGN Hand's on with DMC3 and so far I like what I hear. They're saying the camera is a little easier to use than in DMC1 (IGN always complains about the camera so much in games that I never have a problem with), it's very hard (my kind of game - I liked how DMC1 was pretty tough compared to other games out there)

IGN Article said:
It's not too often that games provide a challenge, much less one hell of a challenge, and this one looks to be geared towards the hardcore gaming fanatics who miss the days of easy deaths in games.

That's me.

I haven't played DMC1 in forever...in fact...I'm going to the store to pick it up right now to try and take on the hardest difficulties :)

How is the difficulty in the game? DMC1 was a pretty hard game, but it got easier when you mastered the controls in the game.

Also, I heard DMC2 was way too easy.

Yes AmishSlayer you can buy and upgrade moves like DMC1 , and the combat is just amazing there is 4 combat styles. i really dont know what style should i choose they all rock ! and i dont think the guns are overpowered.

DMC3 is NOT like DMC2, its like DMC1 with better addons ( the most important addon is : good story ).
IMO this is the best DMC out yet, so if you loved the first one you should get this one ! trust me

This is exactly what I wanted to hear :)

I'm leaving in like 2 minutes to grab DMC1 - gotta see if I can still pull off my favorite little move: Slash and jump up into the air with the enemy, unload some pistol rounds into him while we are suspended in the air, do a wall jump off the enemy's chest and come down with an overhead slash.

EDIT: Wow, just watched IGN's gameplay trailer and the guy did almost the exact move I just wrote except added a few more hits up in the air and it cut to another shot before he did a downward slash - I like it :)

ok im off to play DMC 3 ^^

Guys you gotta play it !
Everytime you get deep in this game its just gets better and better !
the weapons are just soo cool !

You got to fight any bosses yet?
The bosses was one impressive thing in DMC1, especially Phantom and Griffon. :)

Yea killed 4 so far
and it was impressive...really impressive

DAM I envy you

tell more but zero spoilers please

What is the combat system like, how does the enemy switching system work?
Do you use the guns more or the swords more?

Combat styles are 4 :
- Tricks ( running on the wall \ speed )
- Swordmaster ( you get more moves with the sword )
- Guns ( you get more moves with guns )
- Royal Gaurd ( based on the "agressive blocking" )

You can change your combat style before you start a new lvl when you upgrade your moves and buy items.
Each Combat style got a level ( like RPG games ) , everytime you kill a monster you get xp. when you lvl up you get new moves. Another something new , now you can chagne your weapons without going to the invenotry ( sorry spelling ) screen !. just press R2 or L2 ( R2 for swords , L2 for guns ). also you can carry 2 swords and 2 guns only in each level. oh and The Cut-Sence are really impressive.

ok thats all for now.
off to sleep

1. So you can only change styles between levels? So I can't go from trickster against fast little guys to maybe a swordmaster style for a boss fight? Awwww.

2. Boourns. We need more impressions :P

From what I've heard apparantly there are more than just those 4 that you can unlock upon completing the game.

Yea a friend told me that today, lol 4 was enough for me :P

AmishSlayer sorry i forgot to say that , you can change your style in the level or before a boss fight.

Yes
If you like 1 , you will like this one trust me.
The only thing i didnt like is the map system , at least they could tell us where Dante is on the map :P

DMC2 was an abomination, and it was way too easy. DMC1 took me a few weeks, Dante's disc on DMC2 took me an evening.
Glad to hear that about DMC3 by the way, what's the soundtrack like? All I've heard is the vocal tracks so far and they weren't very impressive (Except for The Devil's Cry, the theme from the trailer).
If the action music is anything like the first I'll be mighty happy.

I've just beated the game ^^, took me 9 hours
what an amazing game.

Psychanalysis, the music are great even i think its better than the DMC1 music

Does it have the same difficulty setting option set as DMC1? Where normal is actually challenging, hard is crazy, and dante must die mode is next to impossible? Are there other things unlocked once you beat the game?

DMC2 was an abomination for sure. It was so lame that you could just shoot your guns and kill bosses...worst idea ever.

I'm playing DMC1 again to gear me up for DMC3...man...I can't wait.

Hehe, I never got longer than to the Black Knight mission on hard mode (without cheat codes :p), as I ALWAYS got owned by the Shadow enemies… god I hate those.

DigiQ8: Congrats. :) How difficult was it? Harder than DMC1?

too right, the Shadow beasts were stupidly difficult, especially near the beginning when you don't have much Devil Trigger.

I had beaten the game a while ago, but now I started it up again and it looks like I lost my data :( I'm going through it again now. Only up to like mission 6. God this game is still amazing. Graphics are pretty good, gameplay is just plain sweet :)

9 hours sound short :(

DMC1 is shorter than that. The game is worth a few times through if you ask me. This is my 3rd time playing through the game on normal :P (I lost my save data twice :()

Im playing it again now with normal
btw there is 6 Combat Styles

Wow, just watched some videos. The gunslinger style looks sweet. You can go all "Gun-Kata" on the baddies like in Equilibrium shooting in different directions. Damn I cannot wait for this.

If you've seen an anime called Gun Grave he shoots just like him.
