Japanese Internet vs. North American Internet

$60/month? WTF... That's robbery

While that is interesting... isn't that website just an ad for some book?

My speed is lower and costs more, also I am closer to Japan than you.

Seperate ad down the bottom which is related to the image but is not part of the image... i think.

GO NEW ZEALAND.

Currently paying about NZ$80 a month, and my bandwidth is still capped. **** yeah.

internet for me in Virginia isn't nearly fast enough, and it's over priced.

Didn't some eastern countries like Japan and S. Korea invest heavily in internet infrastructure a while back to boost their economies?

Well, obviously he had to make a new one since Hectic Glenn edited the linking to that other adblog.

Yeah after Japan got bombed to hell they heavily focused on infrastructure and happening to be a very small nation it wasn't particularly hard to pull off. Fibres rather new of course but the nature again of Japan made it piss easy to upgrade their existing network. Oh and that link is wrong as hell. America as a whole is not densely populated. If you have friends in such places as I do get an OpenVPN set-up.

These tests are dodgy as hell I can pull 8000 down easily. Uploads close as I'm on 8mb DSL1.

Any test I run on the rigs I've got overseas would be pointless as they're constantly downloading/uploading something.

Yup, their infrastructure and back bone is all cutting edge. Optic fibres and what-not.

We've used up all our bandwidth. Guess what that means..

Eh, not bad. It's gone downhill since my old ISP got bought out by Suddenlink, though.

Psssh, I'm only in Devon because of Uni. I'm a Midlander at heart!!!

I laugh at your pathetic internets. :p

I've got a 200mbps internet that gets me up to nearly 10 megabytes per second in dl speed, with an average of at least 1 ~ 2megabytes per second. As for upload, I don't know, and frankly it's fast enough to make me not care.

Better than it usually runs. Mines been running slow lately :(

Pff, 100mbit at home with 10.8MB/s tops, average of 3-6MB/s (depending on the server of course) :p

Tried at school and got:

Yeah baby!

And here's mine measured to your crazy ass island.

I hate you. For me it's an average of 200-300 kb/s, rarely reaching 1mb/s.

Only 100mbit? The rig I'm connected to right now is on 10000mbit. Share is pulling a tremendous amount of available bandwidth however. It gets to the point it's cheaper to fly over with a stack of Hard Drives and bring the stuff back myself rather than slowly DL at 8mbit.

i own all.

take that.

I think I have the worst broadband package ever. It sucks living in the middle of nowhere. Costs like $40 a month too.

Oh well I plan on moving soon and will be getting a 20mb/2mb package for the same price.

I wished that I lived in Holland, faster internet for cheaper...

...But then I don't pay for it ;)

I no longer have my 15 mbps net :( It was packaged with my rent so I never felt like i was paying for it.
