I've watched 5 episodes so far. It's overly sentimental Christian nonsense.
The music is generic rock bullshit that gets in the way of rare scenes that might actually be good. The characters are cardboard cutouts without any depth. The only guy seemingly with any ounce of depth is the black guy who's hiding something.
There are some unintentionally funny scenes also, like the main character using the rifle scope to flukily notice the black dude in the his back garden on a laptop. WTF is he doing on his computer in his backgarden??
The geek guy might aswell just **** the popular girl right now, since you know it will eventually happen, it's too cliche with her stupid friends always asking "what are you talking to that loser for??? OMG OMG LOL??".
Likewise, the main character might aswell just **** the blonde, and the IRS lady might aswell just **** the farmer. The other guy will probably get caught cheating on his wife.
The mayor gets on my nerves too. He keeps making stupid puke-enducing sentimental speeches about community spirit and sticking together. Somehow that stopped an entire riot in one of the first few episodes. Where I come from his face would've been smashed in.
The problems they face are always fixed, and you never think that they won't be, therefore you're never afraid for them at all. Running out of power? Not to worry, the main character will fix it in some random way. Running out of water? Not to worry, the main character will fix it somehow. Little girl dying on a bus? Not to worry, the main character will somehow know the exact point where to stick a straw through her neck.
I said this on another site on the net, but they might aswell just call it Everwood: The Nuclear Years.
