i voted three. i thought it was fairly good. i'm also a big fan of donnie darko, and gary jules' cover of INXS' "Mad World" is a great song. i especially liked the cinematic-style fades, slow-mo, disolves, etc. but i personally didn't like your drawing style much (just personal taste), and in places the animation was a bit jumpy for my tastes. also, the subject felt a little clichéd to me. again, that's just my personal take, judging from your reviews, it sounds like most people aren't as cold and jaded inside as i am good job.

I think it was great. It kinda touched me in a way most flash animation doesn't do. In the sence that most flash i see is supposed to be funny, while this is more serious. Really good job with the drawing(as he said, personal taste ). I like it alot. Perhaps couse im a sad person?! hehe

I liked it a lot. You have a story of your own there already, so I thought it was a bit much that you depicted almost everything in the song.

Oh, I think the song is originally by Tears for Fears. This version is way better though.

Very nice, very emotive. I have to agree with what was said earlier though, the drawing style isn't much to my liking. But you did a great job conveying the story, the images you chose spoke clearly of what was happening, the story was well laid out, and the soundtrack synched perfectly with the movie, it was almost scary in parts heh,... Good job man.

This is indeed true (on both counts). OT, but this was one of the 1st songs I learnt to play on the piano.

I like the flash animation Joey, you show a lot of potential. One thing that bugged me however was the time you spent on everything else and then using standard cubes for the city he gazes out to. It looks really crap and the movie would look a lot better if this was altered.


For that reason I voted 4, which should be (very good, but needs work )

i agree...i'm quite experienced with flash and i know what it takes to put something like that together...especially tying things in with the music...it's no easy job...and you did a good one...job...good job...lol...this sentence didn't turn out like i'd hoped.

Anyway mate I've used flash too and I know how tricky this stuff is. My mate here had a good laugh at it but he's sick so whatever Great stuff, love the song, love Donnie Darko!! Make more, you have a nice touch.

aw thanks a bunch guys

To make a movie like this, you really need some modivation and dedication... It only took me 3 days to make... I mean i've been in graphic arts for a while but never really discovered flash until like 3 months ago.. (it took me about 3 months to understand how flash works lol)

my motivation was all based on a true story.

My Uncle was a great man
....I wish he were still here :'(


But.. yeah heh, in a way.. its just a peice of my history...

my graphics arn't the best i will admit that i know... but.. im sure theres room for improvment right?
