John Woo To direct R6 movie

NOOOOO!!!!!!!! It'll be a full time slowmotion movie!!!!

Not John Woo... anyone but him. He's going to screw this one up as well, this guy has no talent whatsoever.

IMHO he did a great job on MI2.

Hmmm, John Woo directed Windtalkers, I rest my case :P

Rainbow Six + John Woo = Bad idea. He completely messed up Mission Impossible 2, it was no where as good as MI1. The only movie that was good, which he directed was Face Off.

@Frank - Totally agreed.

I don't mean to flame or anything, but I didn't like Faceoff either. I just think this guy's lost his touch, he tries too hard with the emotional backdrops and ends up completely ruining the action.

In my opinion hes overated, just like Quentin Tarantiono. Windtalkers didn't really amaze me much and was just another war movie.

John Woo just doesn't suit Rainbow Six; it's supposed to be a tense political thriller, but he'll just turn it into some SWAT-clone.

You, sir, have CLEARLY not seen Hard Boiled, A Better Tomorrow, or The Killer for that matter.

John Woo can direct. I don't know if he can direct a movie based on Rainbow Six, but he can direct in the HKBO genre like nobody's business.

All Chow Yun-Fat movies. Either Woo 'gels' with Yun-Fat to create great movies, or Yun-Fat just steals the movie anyway, it has nothing to do with its director...

hmm.. opinions on John Woo seem to be very mixed here.
i personally have enjoyed movies hes directed.

now i haven't really followed the Rainbow Six series so i probably don't understand the obstackles a director will need to go through to give the justice the game deserves.

then again, games turned movies generally aren't done well... hmm.. i dunno.. i might go see it when its available.

well at least jerry bruckheimer didn't get his grubby mits on it.

i think john woo hasn't been very successful with western films, but i've seen most of his hong kong works, and they're masterpieces. i just hope he doesn't add the obligatory birds flapping and slow mo extravaganza.

i wonder what steven spielberg would've made of this. or even steven soderbergh.

John Woo did great movies b4, as soon as he got into Hollywood, he lost most of his charm.....

Paycheck, Mi2, fiascos after fiascos....he had some jewels thou, but nothing compared to his "bad list"

Anyone but John Woo.. please.. He's the only guy that could ruin this movie as much as possible.

Hard Boiled and The Killer had really great action scenes but overall were not very good movies. The dialogue was terrible as was most of the acting, and to tell you the trueth I fell asleep towards the end because it was so darned repetative.
