Like the title says, I joined up in January. I'm leaving on the 28th of this month and will be gone for 7 1/2 months for training, however I get to return home after....unless I get deployed.

Basic training will most likely suck, but tech school which follows afterward won't be as bad because I get a lot of my freedoms back (computer, cell phone, communication privileges, etc)

So if I don't post for 3 months, you'll know why.

Even though I don't post that much anymore.

Kewl

Are you gonna play homoerotic beach volleyball?

How much does it pay, whats the difference between reserve and full service?

My friend started her training a few months ago actually. She said one of the first things she has to do is go on some island and basically learn how to survive?

What Eejit said.

Anyway, have fun.

I don't know what reference you're talking about, but yes, yes I am.

The pay is the same when I'm training or deployed, but after I come home, I'm paid for the 1 weekend a month with a lot of the same benefits of being apart of the military but I will need a regular civilian job too.

Fixed. Keep your head down, we'll see you when you get back.

Be careful dude. And don't talk like that you bastard. If you get yourself killed, I will ****ing kill you!

Air Force was a smart choice.
You most likely will not be seeing combat but you'll learn a lot.

I signed up for the Army. Yes, I am 14. Going to be an interesting experience.

Oddly, I feel like a weenie. Everyone has a role in combat, but with my "career field" will be working on F-16 jets. It's cool, but if I got deployed, I'd feel bad for not fighting with other people. But at the same time I'm grateful for that.

It's like a game of TF2, and I'm the engineer building teleporters next to the spawn. Maybe a spy will come and I'll use the wrench for a beat down.

pretty sure jesus frowns at killing (even by proxy) in wars of conquest/imperialism/money making schemes

Best of success mate in this. My bro-in-law is in Turkey right now. He's in the Air Force too. Nice thing about the Air Force is that it's pretty safe compared to other branches.
