First, Pearson demanded $1,150 for a new suit. Lawyers were hired, legal wrangling ensued and eventually the Chungs offered Pearson $3,000 in compensation.

No dice.

Then they offered him $4,600.

No dice.

Finally, they offered $12,000 for the missing gray trousers with the red and blue stripes.

Pearson said no.
He believes he is entitled to $1,500 for each violation, each day during which the "Satisfaction Guaranteed" sign and another sign promising "Same Day Service" was up in the store -- more than 1,200 days.

And he's multiplying each violation by three because he's suing Jin and Soo Chung and their son.

He also wants $500,000 in emotional damages and $542, 500 in legal fees, even though he is representing himself in court.

He wants $15,000 for 10 years' worth of weekend car rentals as well.
"It's affecting us first of all financially, because of all the lawyers' fees," Jin Chung said. "For two years, we've been paying lawyer fees. We've gotten bad credit as well, and secondly, it's been difficult mentally and physically because of the level of stress."

Later, Soo Chung broke down in tears.

"I would have never thought it would have dragged on this long," she told ABC News. "I don't want to live here anymore. It's been so difficult. I just want to go home, go back to Korea."

This is evil, I feel so sorry for the family.

this is abuse of the legal system..that should be punishable by jail time and a payment to the person he is abusing. I hate when people do that. IMO they should be shot.

Here's another one for the hitlist. The man's a twat, plain and simple. He should do the world a favor and go walk in front of a bus. Hopefully it kills him, because if it doesn;t we'll have another multi-billion dollar suit from this prick.

There's only one solution; kill everyone involved.

There's only one solution; kill everyone involved.

That's the middle eastern solution; the american solution is sue everybody involved until you have enough money for the next 5 generations of your family to live like millionaires.

There's only one solution; kill everyone involved.
I think they should be allowed to kill him in self defense, since he is not just attacking their business, but their livelihood and ability to support themselves for the rest of their lives.

500k in emotional damanges? then i guess the chungs need 1 billion for emotional damages, what a ****ing prick

Maybe he just really, really, really loved that suit?

Grey trousers with red and blue stripes? The guy is obviously out of his mind.

The guy is a judge? He obviously has intimate knowledge of the system and is exploiting it for personal gain, and victimizing these people.

Poor family. Like _Z_ said, he's just abusing the system because he knows its weaknesses.

Now he's ruined a small family business and taken more money from them then they will probably ever see at any point in their lifetime. I doubt they can even pay that amount to him.

What Kind Of Judge is THAT?

"Emotional Damages"

Ahahahaha, take it like a man, pussy! Hope his next shite's a hedgehog.

Damn, I honestly wish that guy a painful death. What a clustercunt.

I can sympathise with the Judge here really, I mean, they lost his pants!

did he have $67 million dollars in his lost trouser pocket?

Did you guys read the entire article? It looks to me like he has no case, which may be obvious, but still. Legally, it doesn't look like he has a shred of hope.

ABC News said:
Ironically, less than a week after Pearson dropped off the missing trousers in 2005, Soo Chung found them, she says. She tried to return them to Pearson but he said they were the wrong pants.

"So these are the missing pants, huh?" Avila asked the Chungs' attorney, Chris Manning.

"These are," Manning said, holding up a flimsy pair of gray trousers.

"When the pants were brought in, Mrs. Chung noticed the three belt loop situation and in finding them realized that they were Mr. Pearson's pants based on that."

He also said the receipt tag on the pants "exactly matches the receipt that Mr. Pearson has."

Manning is angry with Pearson, saying the judge has terrorized the Chungs for spite.

It's not the case itself, it's the principle behind it: People are sueing each other for the most retarded things in existence. And winning.

Oh I know, that's why it's news too; just the thought (and the headlines are priceless) of someone sueing for millions over a lost of pair pants will make the news.

On the brightside, it doesn't look like he will win. Unfortunately the dry cleaner's life will still almost be ruined.

the dry cleaner should get conpensation for this ****ing dickhead

They should counter-sue. After everything he's put them through.

Hope they take as much money as they can from him.

Counter-sue for legal costs and emotional damages totalling $67 million, mirite? :naughty:

He needs to be disbarred, relieved of his post as a judge, tarred and feathered, and put on display in front of the Supreme Court as an example of why we need to rework our legal system.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a good thing? Maybe he's out to expose how badly in need of reform the legal system is?

Well hopefully having his disgraceful conduct in the news will create some sort of moral outrage in whatever district he's in and something of that sort will happen.

Hit him. With a 50 cal.

Anyway. that's what you get for taking your conscription-eligible children to a forign country. :p

there would be a ban on video games and pants
