In my video settings I've got it set to play DirectX games at the same refresh rate as my desktop which is generally 85Hz. For nearly all the games I've got this works fine.
However, for CS:S the game kept wanting to play at 60Hz. I used Powerstrip to override the monitor refresh rate and lock it at 85Hz. This worked fine for CS:S but doesn't work in HL2, just seems that no matter what I try I can't change the default 60Hz.
Anyone had this problem and found a solution ? Maybe a config command setting ?
Cheers,
Terry
ATI 9700 Pro
4.11 Catalyst Drivers
Athlon 3200+
1GB PC3200 RAM
XP SP2
Tried with & without latest Powerstrip running with lock refresh rates.
Onboard AC97 5.1 sound from MSI KT6 Delta-FIS2 MB. (Yep, get sound stutters as reported by others as well :hmph: )
2x120GB SATA HD
P.S. Am I sick ? Just been playing the first intro up to the crowbar and the funniest thing I found was throwing the baby doll with the missing arm around. WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH !
