I booked 3 acts for it. They got progressively better. The first one was a panel show, it was mediocre to say the least. The only reason I saw it was because of Jon Richardson (he's one of my favorite comedians).
The second was basically a bastard magician who did well... bastard magic tricks. One magic trick for example was when he got a random girl from the audience to pick a random ad from the fringe guide. The guy said he had to used a "magic board" to block the girl's thought. On the back of the board was the act she was thinking of so we could only see it. The guy told her to try and telepathically tell the audience what ad she was thinking of, and at the count of three the magician told us to say the ad she was trying to communicate. She had the best WTF face ever.
The third was definitely the best. I swear he was one of the funniest stand ups I've ever seen. I didn't realize how big he was until I actually got to the venue. At the end he got all the people at the front row irish dancing with him. It was funny as hell. And to make my day on the way back I got mentioned on Radio 1.

Chris Cox: Control Freak
Jason Byrne: Cats under mats having chats with bats.
