Just finally got an XBOX, Need A Good Online Game

I'm thinking of picking up COD : World at War as I heard that has kick ass multiplayer. But since I'm on a limited budget right now any other 360 games out now that would be more fun online? Left 4 Dead is only around $20, that might be good too.

Never tried, but some of my friends says Fable 2 multiplayer is great. Otherwise I whould get GTA 4. It's still great.

If you're gonna get a COD might as well get the new one but since you're on a budget that might be an issue seeing as the game is overpriced for some reason that eludes me. How about not eating for a couple of days and getting Borderlands?

I've never been a fan of RPG. Borderlands looks interesting since its also a first person shooter but I'm afraid the RPG elements might turn me off. If it's really that good I can drop $60 for it. Also, I should add that my sister's fiance has GTA4 which I could bum from them for a while, so I don't need that. I also bought saints row 2 when I got the xbox, so I got that covered.

Nah the RPG aspects are minimal, you get skill points and that's pretty much it. Quests are really simple. It's mostly just shooting, like 95% shooting and 5% RPG. Check the thread for it, there are a whole bunch of reviews out that can help you decide if it's for you.

got tired of L4D really fast. ..what about Borderlands? you're going to suck in competitive multiplayer anyways as it'll take you awhile to get used to the controls in fps. Borderlands is co-op

ODST if you have some friends to play Firefight with. It's disgustingly good. I suspect Borderlands will also be great fun in multiplayer. The rpg elements look no more heavy than choosing what skill you want - the rest is boom headshot

If you have some friends to play with, I gotta recommend Halo 3 or ODST as well. Say what you will about the single player campaigns, this is one of the few multiplayer games that I am still playing and having a blast doing so.

COD: WAW is alright, it got mixed reviews and what not. It's really fun for a couple of weeks, then it gets boring - Nazi Zombies or not. I perfer COD4, one of the main reasons is the guns are better and more balanced, while the maps are great for online. In COD: WAW, the maps are Battlefield-esque sized. I'd also keep an eye on Modern Warfare 2, that should be really good.

COD: 4 or WaW is a great start. Also try some of the Arcade games, they're pretty fun for online only too

COD4 or MW2 for sure, I found 5 to have a pretty craptastic multiplayer.

No point in getting Fable 2 for multiplayer, it's pointless.

Get Borderlands used at Gamestop and if you don't like it, you can just return it for full price.

If you're getting a Call of Duty game, just hold out for Modern Warfare 2. There's no point paying $40-ish for COD4 or 5 with MW2 so close to release. Just rent them once each (or COD4 twice, preferably) if you really can't wait.

Halo 3: ODST is really good, if you like Halo.

Geometry Wars (from the XBL Arcade) is a great game, cheap and addictive.

you can pick up Battlfield Bad Company for $20 which has about one month worth of entertainment. i rented that and enjoyed the multiplayer as much as the singleplayer

You enjoyed the SP really? I thought it sucked but then again i only made it about two missions in. It basically felt like a MP match but with bots, hmmm maybe I was to quick to judge.
