Just got an external harddrive...

It's the 120gb WD one that has pretty lights and shit. Ok it's hooked up, I'm liking it, and it is keeping all my files backed up and everything in neat storage. However, my problem is, when i shut my comp off, the harddrive stays on! There's no power switch, and the only way i can turn it off is by pulling the plug. I'm afraid to keep pulling the plug, at the chance of possibly losing all my data. Does anyone know what the hell is up? Thanks.

Unpluggin the harddrive should be fine. The head should park so the drive won't be damaged from it hitting the platters. If it makes you feel any better then click on the USB connection in the bottom tray by your clock. 'Safely Remove Hardware'.
