Well, keep in mind that Sept. 30 and October are not very far apart: for some stores, they might not even get the game until Sept. 30

i called eb to reserved a game for myself. and they told me 2004 it would come out. then i told them i heared its sept 30th. then they told me maybe Nov it will come out. then i slammed the phone and said u dont know wah the fuk your talking bout!

I was under the impression that they get the shipment a few days in advance so as they can put the games on the shelves on the specific release date? I could be wrong, but that's what I thought.

Probably not. Only certain companies do that (Blizzard, Microsoft)

Oh, I hope I hope I hope I hope. I can allways get the guys down at my Software Etc to give it to me a day earlier. I allways call the day before to see if they got the shipment, and I allways have it pre-ordered, so they say just come down and get it.

sept 30th is the release date and not the shipping date so for most game stores (meaning the big companies such as Game in the UK and i think EB in the US) will have the game on their shelfs on sept 30th (bar any delays). Stores that don't specialise in games will probably have the game on sale later because their turn over is not as high.

if you can find anywhere where sept 30th is the shipping date i will agree with you.

I remember reading when Tiberian Sun came out (a long time ago) that in the UK they are only allowed to release games on a Friday. Which means that Half Life 2 will be out on the 3rd October. I'm not sure whether it's true or my mind just made it up.

heard a lot of people say games in UK are only released on friday as well but i have bought games the day they have come on tuesday as well so i don't think it matters might only be certain publishers that do that
