...when I was walking in I saw a guy walking out carrying a PS3!! It was the last 60GB one they had of course, but they had one more 20GB version in stock--BUT NO WIIS!!! Now, I am sure as hell not spending money on the PS3 at this early stage in the game, but the fact that they are much easier to get than the Wii is pretty disturbing to me. I thought Nintendo was supposed to have made so many more units?! Still, PS3s are probably still available because people feel the way I do: no great games + huge pricetag = no sale. (Of course, I feel the same way about the 360 for the most part--this year will be the big deciding factor though with all the high class games hitting the streets). Just thought it was weird to see....

Who said they were easier to get than a Wii? You obviously came on a day when they had no Wii's in and had PS3's around....I've seen more Wii's around here than PS3's.

aka People are returning their PS3's because they couldn't sell them on ebay.

The EB near my house had 5 ps3's in stock, and when I asked them if they had been selling them, the guy told me that they haven't even sold one ps3 all day. PS3 = not worth the money = Sony tried to do to much, and didn't deliver the goods...

I have 1 wii for $400 here and 2 ps3s for $550 each.... Those are the only ones of the consoles I've seen in town.

in my town most stores have 3-5 ps3s in town. where as wiis dont even last 30mins. picked mine up today luckly. hell i'm writing this msg on my wii right now because the gf is on my comp atm

edit: takes to blood long to "type" it out

They said they get Wiis every once in a while but they are few and far between.

And the PS3s are not units that have been returned, at least not at my local gameshop.

Oh well, I am just saying that at this point, I will stick with my PC-PS2-DS-PSP(homebrew-only for now)-combo. The next-generation can wait as far as I am concerned....

Of course the Wii is selling well. Everyone loves the controller.

Found an interesting reason as to why there has been a PS3 shortage, Sony hasn't been able to get enough Lasers for Blu-Ray.

that's a hefty price tag for the Wii - I've seen it retailing for a mere E200

Also the process that is used to make the Cell processor only puts out yields of maybe 20-40 percent of usuable chips for the PS3, which is a horribly low figure as far as yield counts go.

We got no PS3's at all here

:D

Wii's are selling like mad here, and then they keep coming back in stock a few days later. It's cool.

Wii's get shipped pretty regularly and disappear from shelves within 24 hours.

PS3's are starting to pile up though. My local Best Buy has 20 of them stacked in a pyramid. Nobody's buying them.

Yeah I went to Best Buy on a Sunday sometime after christmas (they had been holding their Wii's for the Sunday ad) but they didn't have any in but the guy said they had 'tons' of PS3s. I'm not sure how many he meant by 'tons' but I didn't bother to check...I was there for a Wii.

Bwahahahaha. That's great!

Well every console has their own big hits coming where sales will jump.

PS3 - MGS4 - GT5 - WHITE KNIGHT STORY - FINAL FANTASY XIII - KILLZONE
360 - Halo 3 - MASS EFFECT - ALAN WAKE
Wii - Mario Galaxy - Smash Bros.

(Added some serious exclusives that should move the heck out of systems all over the world.)

But yeah, I see no really good reason (i.e. not having more than 2 great games) to buy any of the next-gen consoles right now, esp. not with all the PS2/DS goodness coming real soon!!! :bounce:

White Knight,I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the HD trailer, what a beautiful game, I hope it delivers in the gameplay department too..

I don't doubt the graphics department, as Level-5 is one heck of a talented team, but most of the fighting looked obviously scripted. Now I don't doubt we'll have a similar combat system but what bother me the most are the fluid animations on the characters, which brought back memories from the E3 2005 Killzone trailer. Everything looks too perfect while the camera slowly shifts over the battle zone without any hiccups.

However, I hope that Level-5 can live up to the perfectionism of the trailer and prove me wrong, but I'm not getting all worked up as for now.

I agree, I really want to play this game, and Level-5 is more than up to the task, be let's wait for more impressions of the game, the game is in a very early development stage..

You guys have played some Level-5 games, right? They are exceptionally talented and I have little doubt that they will be able to deliver, especially when given some serious access to the hardware. But yes, cautious optimism is the best way to go these days, so I can't wait for some first impressions!!!:D

Oh, yes. Dark Cloud 2 is one of the best RPG games I've played.
Level-5 is one heck of a developer team, but they have placed the bar quite high with White Knight. The question is IF they can live up to that, and I damn hope they can. Look at what Evolution Studios brought us with Motorstorm. While not blowing the E3 2005 trailer out of the water they DID come pretty damn close to it, and that's pretty impressive given that Motorstorm is such an early game in the PS3's life-cycle and that the developers are just getting used with it.

Anyway, I hope we'll see some news about White Knight Story this year. The info we have now is very vague so I hope something comes up soon.
