The experience was weird..cause I never got put to sleep before..so this was my first real surgery.

The doctor removed all 4 wisdom teeth, one which was very imbeded in the Jaw. He had to break all the teeth in 2 to get them out. It turns out it should have been an easy surgery but it turned into a tough surgery for the Doctor.

Now, I cannot eat solid foods for 2 months..I need painkillers cause it hurts quite a bit, My mouth is swollen pretty big..so are my cheeks, and I need to put an ice pack on my jaw every half an hour to make the healing process faster.

It was a good first surgery..but not enjoyable. Anyone else had an experience like this??

Ouch, my wisdom teeth came through qutie a few years back, no problems tho.
I've never actually had a single dental problem in my life, it's always been "straight A-1's" when i have check ups.....actually stopped going to dentists when i was 16 because there was no point.

Healthy diet and good genetics are the 2 things to give good teeth.

You have it all short recoil, and more. Robocop ain't a scratch on your molars.

Wow, I got mine out a couple of years ago, but no problems (besides having a nasty taste in my mouth for a few weeks).

Well, at least you get to eat ice cream and applesauce for a while. Did you do anything crazy when you woke up? I remember for the first surgery I had, I woke up and all the doctors were huddled around me. It creeped me out, so I tried to kick them. Poor doctors.... and then I threw up in the car.

you will be able to eat solid food most likely way before 2 months unless it was REALLY bad. mine was really pretty good.

Ow, I have yet for mine to grow in but seeing as how I have no space in my mouth, my adult teeth mite just fall out.

It wasn't really that bad..but still not really a smooth operation. I'm hopeing to start eating solid foods in around 2 to 3 weeks.

They X-rayed my mouth and i don't have to have my Wisdom teeth out. Kinda glad :)
Sounds like it's pretty painful though.

Crapola, i have 4 wisdom teeth i need removed before my Mission. No solid food for months? My friend was eating solid food in about a week.

I'm hoping I never have to get mine removed. :\

i had mine removed, it was quick and easy and pretty much pain free. I actually liked the drugs. When i woke they had to wheel me out in a wheelchair because i couldn't even form a complete sentence, the whole ride home i was just limp against the door.

My favorite ride home was when i went to get my glasses, and they had to dialate my pupils. We'll they give you this strong sun glasses to keep the sun out since your pupils can't shrink everything is SUPER bright. We'll this was in the summer, and i live in alabama, and i had to drive home, and my car doesn't have A/C. So i had to drive home with the windows down, so i'm doing a cool 80mph on the freeway when the wind blows my sunglasses off (they were just paper) and i go instantly blind, i had to cleverly switch lanes to the shoulder and go find the glasses. I drove the rest of the way home sweating with the windows up.

I really dont wanna take any meds for the pain, i hate pills with a passion.

Ditto here. Mine were growing perfectly horizontally, crowding the other teeth and not breaking through the gums (ergo, they never hurt). Getting them out meant breaking three of them and stitches to sew the gums back up. Needless to say, I was out and the scariest part was when the stitches (made to dissolve with time) came out and I thought it was too early.

I had all 4 removed at once about five years ago. Two were pretty severely impacted. I couldn't eat a steak for about 2 months. The first couple of days after the surgery were miserable. I lived with my parents at the time and my mom wouldn't let me take a single Vicadin.

It was the first time I was put under as well. Apparently right when I woke up after the surgery I was screaming obsceneties as I staggered around the office drooling at which point I eventually just dropped to the ground. My mom got quite a kick out of it apparently. I'm glad that misery is over. I do remember asking the doctor before I left if he got his medical degree out of a cracker jack box. He was a hack.

Mine are about half-way out, with no problems.

Then again, I haven't seen a dentist for about 3 years... so what do I know?

I've pulled out 4 teeth. Two, then two more a week later. The dentist didn't put me to sleep, she just used anaesthetics.

Sooo... The topic is teeth then? God, these forums really have gone to hell.

Well it is an off-topic room. Besides, there are a lot worse threads here.

Haha!! wow. You had quite the experience. I will not beable to eat a steak either for 2 months. The removed all 4 of mine. They had to crack all 4 teeth in half to get them out..so I'll be in pain for the next week or so.

Oh boy, I truly feel sorry for ya. Good luck. Keep those plugs clean, you'll thank yourself I promise. I hope for your sake you don't smoke anything. That made life extra miserable.
