Thinking of getting Half Life 2 and the epsiode pack, but I'm second guessing my hardware. A little reassurance is all im asking for. I have:

-Nvidia Geforce 6100 on board graphics card +3200
-AMD Athlon 64 Processor
-Almost 2 GB of ram

Should I be able to run half life 2 and its episode packs? Further computer details can be given if nessacary.

The RAM and CPU (which I'm assuming will be fast enough) are adequate enought for HL2, EP1 and EP2. The graphics adapter will play HL2 and EP1 although not at max settings. EP2 is a bit more intensive but it may also run on low settings OK.

Cool, I'm thinking of getting a new graphics card when ever I get the cash, and was just making sure I wouldnt have to wait till then to play the game.....

One final thing... By "ok" you mean it will run well, just I might have to adjust some of the settings, correct? Just asking, dont want to mistake "ok" for "bad frame rate, and poor quality".

You will most likely have to have everything on low for it run at an acceptable frame rate which means it will look poor quality. This is the only benchmark for this adapter being tested with HL2 I could find.

It gives no details on the page about the settings used but the 800x600 resolution indicates it was mostly likely set to low.

I was able to run half-life 2 with my Geforce 3.

How amazing is that? It ran pretty damn well too, even though it looked much crappier.

So at the very least, your video card is more than fine.

RAM is definitely fine.

I don't really know anything about AMD processors though, sorry.
