I just got upset when I realized I couldn't play stalker on any settings really higher than 800x600 with medium settings and all static lighting...hopefully this new computer will brighter my games up a bit.

I can always buy another gig if I desire, and I had to skimp a little on the processor because I wanted that video card.

Unfortunately I can't blow as much money on new computers as some people can

you can always overclock the cpu and rams are cheap these days so there shouldn be a problem.

my pc struggles with Stalker too. i play at 800*600 with low settings and i get lots of lag that my character dies of radiation... hopefully, i can afford a laptop that can handle new games.

Your pc is gonna struggle with just 1GB! Also you should have waited out for the quad core. Sure there arn't many multi-thread apps now but this Fall games will be using at least 2. Next year I'm betting they will use 4 cores. Yeah what he said about the quad-core thing. I just don't see you're upgrade very worthy except the gfx card maybe.
