I needed some good ol' fasioned fun. I was sick and tired of being run down. So I got my 2 roomies to play Monopoly with me. The game started out usual...everyboyd owning 1 or 2 of the 3 properties and trying to weasle in a trade here and there. I got Boardwalk, and someone else had Park Place. So I kept trying to barter. Well..I found my chance. The one that didn't own Park Place wanted my utility...so I wanted Parkplace. He ended up trading a rail road and a orange property for the park place, and gave to me. ..big mistake.

About 20 minutes later, after passing go 4 times, I bought hotels. MUWAHAHA.

They miss both of them about 6 times in a row. :( Finally, one of them gets a chance card *Go to boardwalk!!* $2000 for me. She has almost NO money left *I KNOW SHE HAD FRIGGIN MONEY LEFT!* and them the other roomie lands on it same time around.

That was fun I thought..got my mind off of the shit that's going on recently. I love boardgames :D

Monopoly is fun... too bad you can't take more drastic buisness ventures... like breaking the kneecaps of your competitors and forcing them to sell you their shares.

I used to like Monopoly, but i sucked! so i lost interest. The kneecaps bit sounds like it could spring some life back into it!

boardwalk? park place? what madness monopoly is this?

Street names in monopoly is different from country to country, not many of you would know what streets I am talking about if I said: Normanstorg or Västerlånggatan.

Whoa... is that in the Edna Krabapoly edition?

Monopoly is a great game but unfortunately there's not greater force in the world for breaking apart families and friends, driving hatred deep into the very souls of all those involved and ripping open rifts and divides that will never be closed for thirty years, not even with expensive counselling.

Monopoly - the homebreaker.

Story of my life.

just bought star wars monopoly, haven't tried it yet. :)

I wouldn't if I were you. As well as simply breaking your family it'll cause your dad to start wearing black and saying things like "Destrukt...I AM YOUR FATHER" and "Join me and we can rule the galaxy, father and son!"

First I loved monopoly, but now Risk is the game to be played :)

Gah. Starcraft FTW (just 'bought' it :naughty: )

I don't like Monopoly, mainly because I suck. As in, I have bad luck and always fall on the wrong spots.

I usually spent most of my time in jail.......where I belong.............

My roomate landed in jail 3 or 4 times in a row. I found that funny...it all started with teh "go straight to jail" card :P

Boardwalk and Park Place are the last 2 places to buy next to go. The dark blues.

That is Park Lane and Mayfair :frown:

We should invent HL2 monopoly.

"I got a citadel on my Ravenholm, £1000 please!"

"Green ammo crate - 'its my birthday! everyone give me £10'!"

:D

......mmk perhaps not. :|

Yeah, if you read the rules of monopoly, you see that all games have to end up with people shouting at each other.

I always build hotels at Hornsvägen and Västerlånggatan. :D Then I try my luck at the Karlaplan streets, but that's it. Normanstogs and Centrum is too far out, so to speak.

I was slightly quoting a line from Family Guy..

"How are the new legs doing?"
"Great, too bad they belonged to a parapalegic *or something similar*

I know it. It's like the time Peter took the homeless guy's eyes...

Monopoly is fun but a little too complicated and the games can get kind of long.

I prefer Candyland. Or Chutes and Ladders. Or Boggle. I haven't played Chutes and Ladders in a long time...... While we're at it, why not sit around watching Land Before Time too? And start coloring in coloring books!!

Yahtzee is also fun even though I generally dislike dice and card games. Scattergories is another fun one for crazy folks who write down weird stuff. Apples to Apples is a good one for crazy people too.

i remember that movie. then they made about 100 sequels and i couldn't be bothered with them... :|

I play monopoly with my brother and sister like once a year, I ALWAYS lose, I end up tipping the board over in frustration, then my brother kicks the crap outa me because he is the one who is always winning, I'm always losing.

I HATE MONOPOLY!!!
