I honestly can't see how this game made such a fuss last year. I somewhat agree with Jeff Gurstmann's review. All of the reviews praise how Zelda = the shit with flawless control. But that's clearly not the case. Sometimes, it's such a pain in the ****ing balls to aim. Pretty much, the control is the weakest point of this title.

I'm gonna just trade in Wii version and get the GC version to play with good old GC controller.

I own it; I didn't like it. I didn't like Zelda games in the firs tplace, but all my friends were raving about it so I gave it a go. It dissapointed me.
Obviously the only people who like Zelda are likely people who havn't really experienced a full-on RPG. Play STALKER or something. Even I think Oblivion > Zelda.

The aiming's perfect. Are you trying to point the controller at the screen where you want the cursor to go or something?

You realise Stalker's barely even an RPG? RPG-lite. Oblivion isn't even as good as its predecessor. Next you'll tell me Bioshock is an RPG.

No, it isn't but still.
Bioshock > Zelda.

Twilight Princess really did not live up to it's name for me. I love the Zelda series, and I've played through every Zelda game multiple times, but TP just didn't keep me interested like the previous entries. I agreed with Gerstmann's review as well.

So different that it's like, a completely different genre of game. :O

I agree with the TC 100% on this. Wow I am bored to death of my wii ;(

I couldn't play TP with a GC pad after getting accustomed to the Wiimote. The aiming works great - fast, intuitive - and whacking bad guys with a sweep is more fun than using a button. I like the shield bash, looking around - it's better in every way.

Despite these improvements, it's obvious TP is a GC port with motion sensing bolted on and I can't wait to see the first 'proper' Zelda title for the Wii. After playing Galaxy (2nd highest rated game ever!!1), we know what Nintedo can do with this machine.

It's fun, my mother's friend's 13 year old son loves the game... he brings it over every now and then to have me help him through tough parts.

It does get pretty repetitive though, having to backtrack all the time and having to re-fight all of the enemies.

one of the most frustrating thing with wii controller is that, sometimes link won't swing his sword when I swing my Wii.

Well, you see you're not supposed to swing the console itself.

*snort*

Aiming isn't that bad if you pull the remote back a bit. Swinging the sword takes practice, that's all. Smaller movements with slower swings may help.

Yeah, always make sure your remote's within range of the sensor.
And just do quick wrist movements, anything overly extravagant usually causes the sensor to not fully pick-up what you're trying to do.

I liked it... even though I'm terrible at Zelda games and get stuck all the time and don't get back to it and figure it out until like a month or two later.

The controls are spot on though, if theres any flawless aspect, it's that.

we know what Nintedo can do with this machine.

And yet they'll probably keep pumping out Mario, Zelda, and Metroid sequels with a few different titles on the side. Not that they aren't fun, but I'd like to see some new ideas every now and then. Zack and Wiki is a good example of what can be done by deviating from the norm.

I've played full-on RPGs. I've played Zelda games. I prefered the Zelda games.

for me the wii controls took some time to get used too.....but thats just me. Games we're more enjoyable after I got used to it.

I've had the game for 8 months and still haven't finished it. It's a good game but nothing special.

I never did finish Twilight Princess...

I wish I had done that before I sold my Wii. :p

I loved those old Zelda games on the GBC, but since then I just haven't been able to get back into the series.

Control in TP for Wii is completely improved in every way possible over GC versions if you ask me. The best example is the bow. Bow use was downright annoying on the 64/GC controller to be fast and accurate but on the Wii it's superb.

...and for the last time...Zelda is not an RPG :| It's an action/adventure game.

I didn't traded in the wii version and gave a second try. Now, I'm used to the controller.

Either way, I love being a wolf more than being Link himself.

Well, if you've played the Zelda games from SNES or Ocarina; you will be raving for a new game.

but it doesn't feel in any way like a next-gen game, both in scope and in gameplay mechanics (The Wind Waker has it beat there).
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS NEXT-GEN GAMPLAY! Jesus.

Sea knows. He's simply using "next-gen game" as a quick way of saying "a game that makes intelligent and evolutionary/revolutionary use of increased processing power in terms of meaningful gameplay advancements and the creation and exploration of artistic game worlds".

Twilight Princess is, as I said, excellent, but it's more of a "best of Zelda" than a brand-new experience.

That's exactly what i thought.

i was like. . "geeze, haven't i done this before, but with worse graphics?"

but i really do like the Wii controls. it's been one of the few games where the Wiimote controls didnt feel gimmicky, they just felt, logical i guess.

the other thing i didnt like was how the game felt like a string of events rather than one game.

i think that had to do with the gameplay, i kept expecting loading screens for new levels because it felt like "okay, here's a mounted combat level, heres an escort level, here's a dungeon, here's a wolf level, etc. etc."

but i did like the game. if not just for reminiscing about OoT. . .
