I think that if HL2 gets pushed back and back it's only going to become obsolete. I say just release the HL2 single player as a conventional release through retailers, no steam after fixing up any possible major security problems, can't be many for the single player. Then, in a couple months, the multiplayer will be fixed up and they can patch that on and maybe release steam as well. It will probably take people a couple of months to beat HL2 anyways. It will also give modders some time to play around with the game and the source code which is out there for good by now and is going to be used for mods anyways.

Lots of people seem to want this. But this would be an unlikely move by Valve.

im more looking forward to the single player right now then anything else i really want to know where the plot is going

valve has to adapt to this situation. this is why we should throw out previous comments they made about how the games being released. because its a new ballgame now. so basically, we have no clue what valve is likely to do. but if there is a lot of work to do on the MP and implmenting increased security, it would bode well financially for them to release a SP version for the holidays.

even the hardcore MP players would crack and buy it, valve would make a lot of money.

it would take quite a while for hl2 to become obsolete. hl1 still isn't :D

yeah actually HL1 is obsolete. I saw it at future shop for 10 dollars and for free if you mail in the rebate. All that's keeping it going is the mods.

no worries i aint gona c hl2 anytime soon for now jus get the other good games comin out like call of duty and maxpayne 2 n unreal tournement 2004
