Just started playing Thief 3

I've never played any of the Thief games, and this is my first time playing. I finished the first mission and just dicking around the town. But do NPCs always respawn when I kill them? And why do I see some guys with swords attacking city guards?

#2. Uh... dunno different factions? Maybe they were criminals/thugs. It happened to me too.


I loved the first Thief game, back in elementary school.... I never found a copy of the second, Thief: The Metal Age.

I think they respawn when you go through the misty stuff to change areas. Blame the Xbox.

What do you mean by that? All it has to store is a 1 or 0 value to denote a living or dead character.

It's famously one of the most consolified games along with Deus Ex 2 - both made by Ion Storm Austin.

If it was PC-only there wouldn't be any blue mist at all. They'd only respawn in between levels instead of in the hub city.
