GTA 2 is still hella fun IMO. Nothing like a good ol' 2D arcade style rampage. Gotta love the live action intro as well.

Eh, GTA2 is probably worst in the series... mainly for the weak story.
It's fun to play, yeah, but not for the story.

I thought GTA2 was too hard. Then again, I haven't played the game in about 8 years now.

I never got into the old ones at all. For awhile I had the GTA2 demo on my computer and it was fun to run wild and blow stuff up, but when I got the full game I never quite got the save system down. It was always a ridiculous pain in the ass to save the game so I never really bothered, I'm sure I was just missing something though. To be honest I wasn't particularly interested.

The new ones are some of my favorite games ever though, and GTA4 is at the top of my wanted list.

GTA2 was the first and only GTA I played until last year. It was very good when I got it for the DreamCast

I recently started playing through GTA III again. Not "old school," yes, I know, but still fantastically awesome.

GTA2 is so much fun multiplayer, was playing it the other day with a friend.

GTA 3 impressed me the most upon first playing...if that makes any sense...

GTA2 was great. I liked the way the missions worked with gang rep and the cars were awesome.

Agreed on the story though. I remember one mission literally starting with "I'm bored, let's start a gang war." :E

Elvis has left the building!

I played GTA 1/London/2 so much on my PS1. Great games. So much better now they're free :D

Does anyone else miss the tesla gun from GTA2? That was the only weapon I was looking forward to for future GTA games. Nothing like electrocuting an entire screen of cops in seconds.

Man,i still remember playing an imported version of GTA for the first time back in 1997 in Germany.
Caused me and my friends a lot of sleepless nights.
There was nothing like it back then.
London 1969 was a nice change of atmosphere.
GTA 2 improved on the visuals but it didn't have as much of an impact on me as the original game did.Overall, they're great games that every gamer should try.

The first two GTA games piss me off massively.

Because you have lives.

Lives. If you die too many times, you run out of lives.

Can you believe that? That's a load of shit.

eh?

I've died countless times in GTA 2. I save after every mission, just in case...

I remember saving costing massive amounts of money.

This may just be the PS2 verson I had. But the game charged you 150 grand to save your game, and you only had like four lives. This was incredibly frustrating. At least i knew where to find the tank.

The graphics blew my mind, the huge game world blew my mind and all of that freedom blew my mind.

GTA3 deserves a place in gaming history.

Playing GTA3 for the first time, I was just like "damn, how did they make this 3D?" :O

Yeah, I loved GTA london 1969. Although I have to say my, favourite, although not 'old skool' was Vice city. I liked the radio stations and the comedy. I liked the radio adverts in SA:
Man: Sexual re-alignment used to require years of therapy, months of hormone
treatments, and you still ended up looking like a drag queen. Now you can let
the woman inside come out in the comfort and privacy of your own home. And
it’s as fast as this:

Man 2: slice...

Man 2 (now with woman’s voice): See? Now I’m a woman, thanks to Rapidite!
This do-it-yourself sexual re-alignment kit includes everything you need to go
from Brad to Brenda in a jif. It’s just snip, chop, stuff and swallow and away
you go. Do it in the bathroom and surprise your family with a new you! Comes
with an instructional video, rusty knife and tourniquet, two aspirins, and
forty-seven pounds of estrogen. It’s all you need! When it’s time for a
change, you want it fast. Rapidite- the do-it-yourself sexual re-alignment
kit. Be -exactly- who you want to be.

I'd take the 2D ones over the 3D ones any day. I liked the first 3D one for a few days because it was so new. I grew very tired of it very fast. I'm by no means saying the 2D ones were better. I just found them much more fun to play.

Playing GTA:London 1969 now. I actually enjoy it better than GTA.

You're Nicked!
