Knife area - fun map

made this in less than a day.
just for fun.

Note: the water is deadly. so if you fall into it, you only have 3 seconds untill you die.
its a source version of its original 1.6 version.

i would like to know how you did the light thats coming down from the hole in the cealing is that the volume light stuff in effects?

Me too, that is very nice looking.

The 1.6 version looks so horrible when you look at it at the same time as the source one. You should have taken a screenshot from the same perspective and it would have made a more dramatic comparison.

Unoriginal. Unimaginative. And just plain... ugly.

Personally, the fact that you have used the light beams shining through a hole in the roof, does not make this map any better than its CS 1.6 counterpart.

Go back, and think of ways you can improve it from the original. Because I don't think anybody will want to play the same crap they have played before. *Unless* the map is really fun - Scoutzknivez, Bloodstrike, glassfloor.

Think up something no-body has made before, and then come back here with it.
 
It's supposed to be a remake, not something new, amazing, fantastic and groundbreaking. I guess you can say the same for dust, aztec and every other CS:S map since they are also the same thing, remade. Why do people still play the same old crap? Just because you dont like the map is no reason to bash it.

Keeping in mind, that Dust, Aztec, and all the other default maps, and not only that, they are enjoyable to play.

I personally enjoy fun-maps, but if its going to be the same old shit I've seen before, I don't want it, and I find it hard to see how anyone else would want it.

And don't tell me not to give my opinion when it is a forum for doing exactly that. Not only that, but the fact that it is a remake, is his own doing. He should have been smarter, and made something original. Did I see him give credit anywhere for the original design? No. So he can't even copy something properly.

A comparison shot as Fortress Forever, like VigilanteP said, is always nice to see the difference for remakes :)

As interesting as that is, I was referring to this map, not anything else he may have made. I didnt comment on those maps.
