I'm pretty sure everyone means it as a compliment. :D And I see the resemblance to Warcraft III (see, I have a Warcraft III art book and I lovees it).

Great work, man. Keep it up :)

Negative. I viewed all of them.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! It means a lot to me to get positive feedback on something that I really enjoy doing. It's like motivation to keep it up y'know? Thanks again.

Very impressive, man.

Transfer me some of your art skill!!1
and yeah, it does look a lot like WC3 style, and I like it :D

Hahahaha, thanks man. Maybe it is Warcraft 3 style, I never really thought about it that way, but I guess it mustv'e been like a subconscious influence. I mean I loved the art for starcraft by Samwise Didier. That guy does some wicked character design sketches. When I drew those pics in high school, that's when starcraft was huge, I'm not surprised I guess that the style turned out that way, 'cause I loved that game more than my gf.

I can almost see a hint of Joe Mad in some of those pics.

Keep it up man!

hahahaha, yeah I was wondering is someone would spot the joe madura influence in style. I was pretty big on him in '99 and 2000, when most of these pics were drawn. I Wonder what he's doin with himself these days?

Looks good
have some crit tho
YOur coloring seems all too... "dodge and burned" :D

Yeah I agree somewhat, If I was to colour these pics again I'd probably do it a different way. I haven't drawn comics in a few years but If I recall rightly I think what I did, for example in the punkfaceyelling pic, in order to give the picture a general lighting I would do a colour gradient and turn it into a colour burn and then adjust the transparency of it. So I guess doing it like that was a simple way of lighting everything in the picture to give it an overall orangy tinge to it. Unfortunately I didn't fix up a few hot spots that became too bright.

I'm not a big fan of neutral colours though, mainly because I don't think it would suit my style of drawing, I aim at using colour to come out of the page and not receed. I think the reason behind that is because my style is clearly unrealistic, I've always felt neutral colours are better suited for a more realistic approach.

Guess i whouldn't have used the word neutral colors....Just meant that well with all thebright spots, it can be a bit too much :D

Your linework is great though!

love the style, and yes, very warcraft. You should try submitting one of the elven characters to blizzard! they'd definately put it up on the site if you put as much effort into it as the ones you showed.

and you did that at high school? amazing :O

Thanks man! I did think about it at one stage, when the Blizzard site first mentioned that they were putting up fanart. The ones they show are pretty damn good though, I reckon I'd have to put something pretty special together to get on the homepage.
But it's a great idea, I might just do that.

Oh yeah, I'm currently creating a comic book that's combining illustration with graphic design into a narrative, a lot more I guess illustrative/art like than these pics that I've posted. Less mainstream would be a better way to describe it. It won't be out for a while but when it's done I'll PDF it and post a link for you guys. 'Cause I really appreciate the feedback that I get from everyone.

Really? Man that's insentive enough for me to keep going with it. It's great knowing some people would actually want to read a comic that I make. It sounds stoopid I know, but for to people want to read something that I create is really cool to know.

Heh the typical artist, no idea when his work is actually better than he thinks :p. I imagine a lot of people would read it if you put a site together and started making them. The guy who did the Dogwitch comics probably thought at first nobody would be interested, but that guy has developed quite a loyal following of fans and I hear is doing well out of it now.

You've got nothing to lose, plenty to gain. As they sometimes say :)

Wow! thanks for the links man, I just finished checking those sites out. It's got a heap of inspiring artwork, I think I might just get some of their opinions too, afterall it's a good way to improve I think.

Oh yeah, Dark Elf, I never heard of Dogwatch comics but I did a search and couldn't find anything on 'em, you wouldn't have a link you ya?

http://www.dogwitch.com/

first hit on google search :p

Stick with conceptart.org btw. Loads of nice guys there, its rare for any of them to insult someone without reason (unlike so many other places) very professional and helpful people. Great site.

Just finished checkin' out the witchdog site, very cool indeed, I love the fact that it's black and white especially. No wonder I couldn't find it though I kept typing in watchdog, silly me.

As for that concept art site, I haven't been there yet, but I will as soon as I get home from work. Thanks for the links Dark Elf, you've been a real help, and inspiration I gotta say, I've seen what you're capable of in the art department and it's just so impressive.

Its dogwitch, dog witch, not watchdog or witchdog or whatdog hehehe

And yeah, I'd definately recommend conceptart.org They do some fun little competitions too.
