i was installing a busmaster update thingy from my pc manufacturers website, during the installation it froze, so i rebooted and now my keyboard and mouse dont work. I think what happened is that the USB ports have been disabled or the computer cant find them or something. For some stupid reason there is no ps/2 port either. I cant boot from a cd or enter the bios.
Does anyone know what i can do?? im a bit of a newb when it comes to this so any help would be good.
thanks.

I'd see if you can get what you updated to actually install right. Might have to uninstall and reinstall that driver.

Have a PS2 keyboard/mouse? :p

i sorta know what to do but i cant do it. The computer doesnt come with a ps/2 port at all, but i do have a mouse and keyboard that support it. Is there any way of installing a ps/2 port or getting an adapter (that is not USB)?? btw. what is the serial port for? can i connect a keyboard or mouse to that??
thanks for the reply

if you restarted while flashing the bios, that's not a good thing...

ya, tbh, u might have to keep trying to flash that bios or u may be forced to format and reinstall everything...

the only problem, though, is if the bios had an error, even reinstalling windows may become very tricky. i wish you the best of luck and u might wanna google to get better advice than from here.

if u truly cant get into the bios, then i cannot help u. sorry

it wasnt a bios flash, im pretty sure anyway. The computer boots but i think it was updating some part of the USB, drivers maybe, im not that good at computers, im only 16. Then it froze so the USB ports are all disabled. Power still runs through them though cause one usb mouse i tried had its optical thing light up. Its because my keyboard doesnt work that i cant get into the bios, sorry for the confusion. im trying to find a serial mouse to see if that works.
thanks for the help guys.

well u should just be able to uninstall and reinstall ur usb drivers... go into ur device manager under "system" in your control panel. See which devices are showing conflicts. if this doesnt work... try getting a usb to ps2 connecter for ur mouse so that u dont need the usb ports. theyre pretty cheap as far as i know. good luck and i hope u fix ur stuff

yay!! i fixed it. aaaahhh.... the wonders of a $5 serial port mouse.
