I have been playing Half Life 2 completely fine on my new system for over a week with no problems.
However just yesterday I have started experiencing a delay in the game between pressing a key on my keyboard and the action occuring in the game of about 2 seconds. It does not make the game unplayable, just a lot harder to control easily.

My current system:
Intel P4 LGA775 530 3.0Ghz
512Mb DDR2 5400
ATI Radeon X700 Pro 256Mb
ASUS P5GDC Deluxe
60GB IBM Desktar IDE HDD
Samsung CD/DVD/CDRW 52x Drive
The downside perhaps?: Logitech LX700 Wireless Desktop
All batteries have been replaced and this did not solve the problem.

In the last 2 days I have installed Nero, PowerDVD, Easy CD Creator and Intervideo DVD suite5 and a few other basic programs to continue rebuilding my computer after formatting my hard drive. I can't see why any of these programs would cause this problem, but the game was fine before and then suddenly started experiencing this keyboard lag, on all levels throughout the game.
Any advice or solutions would be appreciated,
Dazzer

Try getting hold of a non wireless keyboard and mouse to see if that is the problem.

I will try this, but it seems weird that I have been playing for over a week using this wireless setup and have had NO problems. Now after installing a few unrelated programs it seems to have caused keyboard lag and delays within Half Life 2.
Its just very confusing and annoying.

or u can try moving the adapter away from ur system because it can screw up the singnal reception if u have it to close to ur computer

The fun i've had with wireless stuff :D

Wireless stuff is sometimes unpredictable so I would try and narrow down the problems by trying a wired keyboard and mouse.

If it's not you can start looking at the programs you installed.

Hmm well my desk is spacially challenged, but I will try. What is the range on these things? It is an RF one, so it should be quite a way, any ideas?

Best to check with the manafacturer.

Also i've seen mobile phones interfere with wireless stuff.

what i reallymeant is that if u have the adapter like right on the case u should move it on to the desk

Its on my desk next to my monitor, perhaps the monitor creates interference too? Funny that it suddenly chooses to start acting weird when its been sitting in the same position for weeks anyway. I think its more a software thing. Time ti play with MSCONFIG and the startup options.

Just disable as many programs as you can and then try it.

Perhaps batteries? Maybe the batteries on the keyboard/mouse are running out or something.

oh, I´ve got exact the same problem as I have wireless keyboard and mouse too.
And I doubt its just about the batteries, I´ve checked mine and they seem to be perfectly full.
I guess the only solution is just to change back to the wired ones, as uncomfortable as it may sound.. :(

i've got a wireless setup and had the same problem as you. its the monitor. move ur mouse and keyboard away from your monitor. think it is something like at least 4-5 inches or thereabouts.

lemme know if this helps!!! :D

Yeh I know its not the batteries as I stated in my original post that both sets have been replaced and this did not help.
It gets weirder, I have just played Half Life 2 Deathmatch, and experienced no keyboard lag using my wireless keyboard. I still get it in Half Life 2 though, the single player stuff. WHY?
Why does it only happen in this and not in HL2 Deathmatch also??

I am most confused.
