There are a lot of kiddies/lamer's/players who try and screw over you game of CS:S. There are.

I used to play a lot of Raven Shield myself. Now I don't at all care what you think of that game - but it had one built in feature that helped keep lamer's at bay and which I dearly miss from CS:S.

It had a built-in feature that allowed anyone on the server to pass a vote over whether a certain player should be kicked from the server. If a certain percentage of the server then voted in the same fashion, the player would be kicked. Ever so simple - ever so effective.I really miss a similar feature in CS:S.

Then again maybe there is such a feature that I am not aware of... in which case, let me know.

Although it's a great idea in theory, it will not work in-game, the same bunch of lamers and idiots will abuse the vote system and launch random votes every two minutes and since most people don't pay any attention or care who's getting vote-kicked, they will vote "yes" and random people will get booted. It's just like that in BF:Vietnam. :|

I haven't seen this feature used before if it is indeed already in the game...

If it isn't, I feel it is desperately needed.

Also needed is an way to easily mute selected immature assholes using the mic.

Press escape, then select "Player List" and choose the players you wish to mute.

Thanks bud, I'll use it next time I run into this problem :)

Shame - as in RVS this feature works a treat. Sure you get the odd idiot who passes a random vote, but it never gets to enough people agreeing on that and people questioning as to why the player should be kicked are a norm. With TK's it's farily obvious who is the offender.
In cases (such as this recent one I experienced, where a player manages to hyper-lag a server) players see who is the offender and therefore he could get kicked.
But I'm fairly new to the CS community and it could well be that such a feature would'nt work in this community as well as it did in the RVS community... which is shame :(

there should be an option to not only mute someone, but ignore thier text as well.

That's how it is in 1.6, when you mute someone their text messages are disabled as well, I don't know why it's not like that in CS:S. :|

really?

thats pretty damned cool... I never played (nor have interest) CS though.

apparently there are quite a few things missing in the transition to source.

from player models, maps, Lip-synching on models to simple things like a better voice codec (speex at the very ****ing least.. where is the new voice codec we were told about?).

still a fun game though... can only entertain for about an hour or two at a time.. I wouldnt pay for CS:S if it weren't included with hl2. :( unfortunate that Valve went that direction with mp.. but whatever the SP should (MUST) be phenomenal.

i really liked how CZ told u where ur teammates were when they talked, threw nades, radio commands, etc. that was neat. also how it showed where you were by name under radar so everyone knew what names were where...

that does sound cooler than a flashing orange square. (thats what happens when someone does the above in CS:S )
