Kid goes crazy over pokemon card

Oh man that kid's hopes and dreams haven't been crushed yet. When they are, I expect a similar reaction to that... just inverted.

Holy ****....

He got kicked in the balls.

That, or hydro-pumped in the balls.

I can relate to the kid in that video a lot more than I like to admit. I remember being 10 and all I gave a shit about was what rare I would get in the next Pokemon booster pack. There were probably a few scenes like that over the years (Charizard!)

I remember when i found a Lugia in a booster pack I bought, and nearly shit myself.

The first things that came to mind were:

1) Pee-wee Herman
2) Jack Nicholson

Yeah, I remember when pokemon cards were all that exciting. I flipped out when I found this one in a booster pack:

That card is worth like $40 or something.

That's like some new series shit.

How old were you when you stopped collecting :p

**** this pokemon card shit. The Star Wars card game was where it was at.

It says Edition One on the size. I swear that's first Gen.

Lol, maybe when I was.... 12? I can't really remember, but this stuff was brand new when it came out.

I remember Charizard being the most coveted card ever.

I got a ****ing blastoise in a booster pack once.
I have a charizard, btw. First edition, I believe.

Never cared for Pokemon as a kid.

I was advanced.

It's a Blastoise...big deal.

Maybe a Charizard would warrant that kind of reaction, maybe.

Yeah, me too, I got a Lugia in a Japanese (Pocket Monsters) booster and didn't know it was the rarest in that set until like a month later.

The hell is with you guys.

I stopped before any of the new pokemon outside the original set even came close to coming out.

NERDS!

Whatever, I pity the little buggers who now have like 500 pokemon. Besides, original 150 is, and always will be better than any new ones they come out with.

Indeed and back in the day I managed to get two of them. I had full collections of all sorts of things. Doctor Who, Power rangers, whatever. Sitting in albums in a shed somewhere right now.

Don't be hatin, so did I. As my personal pokemania was dying down circa 1999 I remember the second set (Jungle?) coming out. Apparently there have been about 20 more sets since then :O As for the Lugia I had, the Japanese version of the Pokemon trading card game was way ahead of the US version (just as with the Gameboy titles) and the American version of Lugia was at least a year from coming out at that point. I dunno why I bought Japanese booster packs but it may be explained by the fact that I was in the budding stages of my mercifully brief tween otaku phase.

I still love the Pokemon game boy games.

I never collected Pokemon, I never collected anything except hatred for my family.

I collected the original 150, I even got the mew card to get it up to 151, but I never had the most sought after Charizard card. 120HP with 100 damage attack, I remember it being! (Although...no one ever played the game...lol). I remember special moments like getting Raichu, Chancy and Venosaur I think they were...but I remember eventually getting Charizard to finish the collection. I added it to my album, closed it and never opened it since. Job done.
