Killer 7 - A new breed of a genre

it's like xiii meets some generic arcade shooter and than steals the weird storyline of some 'asian' game.

Story and look is good. But the ingame dunno the cellshaded gfx are throwing me off. Ill look into this.

Edit: Just realized it was a console game. That means im probably never going to see this game again.

Considering how long ago it was announced yet they still haven't shown how the game actually plays I'm inclined to believe that its a shitty game with a great art style.

Yes. A mix between XIII and Breakdown. :O

I've been following the development of Killer7 for about a year now. To anybody who says it looks really bad - how can you not love a game about a schizophrenic serial killer? I mean really, have you no appreciation for psychological twistedness!? The dark outset for this game is going to make for some really interesting plot development and I can't wait to see what Capcom do with the formula.

And what's the deal with everybody hating celshading? Personally I love it - it makes the atmosphere of games so much closer to that of anime, and in this case a stylish film noir anime. With other games it can really heighten the atmosphere and make them feel so much more like the devlopers envisioned. Jet Set/Grind Radio was only so damned awesome because the celshading made the game more of a mind-melting experience coupled with the insane soundtrack and the recently released RPG Tales of Symphonia has an amazing anime feel to it that only makes the experience more enjoyable. XIII's celshading really lent to the experience of being in a comic book world, I'd love to see a remake of Comix Zone in the same fashion.

Why, also should graphics affect gameplay? I really have never understood why people think that way.

And they have shown gameplay footage - there's no HUD or guages or such on the screen, and there's many different gameplay styles. There's a couple trailers I've seen from issues of CUBE in early '04 that showed a lot of gameplay footage.

Yeah, Capcom are going downhill, it's true. They still have some good teams working in there though. The original Devil May Cry team (who thankfully had nothing to do with DMC2) are a great team and there's a few others - like the new Resident Evil crew.
There's hope there yet.
