Hey guys. I have a geforce 6800 NU, Athlon 64 3200+, and a gig of PC3200 ram. Everything is at stock speeds. I got the processer and ram for christmas, and that's kind of when I experienced crashing. See, I got BF2 then, and I had problems with stuttering and weird framerate loss which I fixed by raising my graphics apeture from 32 megs to 128. But along with that problem I encountered hard crashing after some time of playing the game..ranging from 30 minutes to an hour. I soon found out that pointing a fan at the side of my PC was a good way to cool of my system (I have an 8 year old case with nowhere to set up fans, so I need to get a new one soon.)

My average tempeature for my videocard went from 60C/85C to 48C/68C. What's weird is, I do not know if it is really overheating that is causing my lockups, because I ran doom 3 and stressed my system by spawning a multitude of enemies, raising my temp to a max of 90C, and I ran the game for about 15 minutes with NO crashing. But the game crashes after five minutes at 65C? Nuh-uh, that won't work..

You guys might ask what my CPU temp is, but it's well below 60C..I see it only get has high as 43 on load.

And yes, I have reformatted -- three days ago to be exact. And the games I have played that have crashed are doom 3, half-life 2, battlefield 2, ut2k4, ect ect. Basically any 3D game that's stressful on hardware. If anyone here has had my problem, and knows how to fix it, please tell me what to do! I haven't had a crash free game in 3 months.

Do it like me,open your case and put a fan in front of it,works for me no joke.

no I didnt lol :P

sorry :( IF u want some real up you might have to give to a shop.

Well, it's sure as hell not your system. Do you clean your computer out regularly? Dust...? I dunno, it's just a thought.

..What? Dude, if you're going to reply to this topic, read my first post.

And yes, I have cleaned my PC.

Processor sounds a little bit melted.
I had the same problem from a used up processor that my brother accidently melted by overclocking.
BTW, BF2 lags with overclocking.
