Killzone 3

it wont work for me I guess to many people are playing...I'll try logging in the morning

I really want this game. But I'm going to wait for a price drop this time around. I'd rather get some map packs and extras after the fact.

I spent yesterday playing the beta, not sure what to think.

I've currently spent the last week playing a ton of KZ2 MP, and I kinda found that I missed the more sluggish feeling to the controls that KZ2 had.

I hate sluggish controls, it felt like I was playing the game in slo mo the whole time

I read a review that said this game is as good as Half-Life 2. Going in with such expectations I probably shan't enjoy this.

Well I hated them the first 20 hours or so of playing, but after that they started to grow on me and I started to perform better and better, often winding up in the top three on my team.

Oh, well that's okay then.
20 might have been an exaggeration but it still took me at least the whole of the SP to get properly used to the sluggishness.

All I'm saying is that after I got used to them I find the game quite enjoyable.

Reviews for the game are generally positive so far:

1UP.com - B+ (most likely an 8.5/10)
Eurogamer - 8/10
Gamespot - 8.5/10
IGN - 8.5/10
Official PlayStation Magazine - 9/10
GameTrailers - 9.4/10
Destructoid - 10/10

So, the average is about an 8.8 for Killzone 3 so far.

had some fun playing with Gargantou this morning, even though we were both lagging like crazy :P

I figured out how to hook up my x11 headset to the ps3 and got the mic working with a usb sound card so now I can chat :)
anyone else playing the betaÉ

Singleplayer looks like another boring campaign full of flashy setpieces. Multiplayer, howevers, looks awesome.

From what I've heard this game is supposed to be legitimately FUN with the Move. Is there anyone that has actually tried it like this?

No, but friends who have MOVE have said it is very fun and gives you more precision than the SIX-AXIS does, which kinda concerns me a bit since you don't have the option of choosing to play with non-MOVE people only, it could be Quake 3 on the Dreamcast(Players with gamepad versus players with keyboard+mouse) all over again if the precision is that much superior, which is gonna suck.

On another note, the Open Beta is very fun, but the sheer amount of stupidity of the majority of people playing it is mind-boggling to me, I thought Halo: Reach was bad but this is on a whole different level.

I almost always wind up top three on my team and quite regularly MVP, and that's not a good thing because I'm not great at FPSes.

Some of the huge mistakes 90% of the people I play with seem to do that pisses me off

1) I always make sure to capture tactical spawn points the first thing I do when I play Operations, which is what I play the most, but almost no-one seems to realize you can change spawn-points and they keep spawning on the default spawn which is far far away.

2) I am also generally one of two people on my team(with up to 8 other players) who seem to actually give a damn about capturing these spawn-points that give us a huge tactical advantage.

But in the end, I guess this is to be expected since it's basically a multiplayer demo, hopefully a lot of the shitty players won't end up buying the game, and the final game will have a bit fewer idiots in it.

I just spent an hour or so playing and replaying the single player demo and I am totally blown away. This is likely due to the fact that I have been playing Killzone 2 lately and it has either bored me or annoyed me. I just sold it back today actually without finishing it because I couldn't be bothered. So then I get on the Killzone 3 demo and the controls are MUCH improved, the graphics are MUCH improved, the gameplay seems much more interesting. Everything seems much better. I am now very excited for this one.

pre-ordered it a couple of days ago
really looking forward to the multiplayer component :)
anyone else?

I'll be playing the hell out of it for a while once I can get unhooked from MvC3.

I have noted people only talk about multyplayer of this game

havent played the 2 but I guess the singleplayer wasnt that great isnt?

anyway one thing I didnt liked about the 2 was that they droped the option of playing as diferent character each whit its own atributes that was in the first one,I think that was one of the strongest points of the first one and feel sad it got scraped to have a tipical nameles hero singleplayer

I guess 3 is the same isnt?

Ugh, can anyone tell me why this game is even considered a good game? It's basically same shit as killzone 2....

Combine Hybrid, if it makes you happy I cancelled my pre-order for this a day before it came out.:)
