Don't know if anyone has seen this yet, it looks great. The trailer is also in HD if you open the video at youtube and click the HD button under the video.

Plot:
Birth by Sleep is a prequel to the first Kingdom Hearts game, taking place ten years prior, and focusing on the story of knights that wield Keyblades before the series' main protagonist Sora. Nomura has stated that, though there are three scenarios—one for each of the main characters, Terra, Ventus and Aqua—there is not one singularly important scenario or character, but the main theme is Ventus' identity. The story was speculated early on to be connected to the unlockable trailers at the end of Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. Nomura has since confirmed a connection to the trailers.

The game will take place in various Disney-themed worlds both new and old, and will partially reflect the time difference between this game and the previous Kingdom Hearts games; for example, a younger Hercules at the Olympus Coliseum. The story revolves around three Keyblade apprentices in search of a missing Keyblade master, Master Xehanort, and his apprentice. Maleficent is believed to be the main antagonist; she causes a great disaster involving the Heartless which results in Master Xehanort and his apprentice's disappearance.

I always wanted to play kingdom hearts 2 but I lack the proper console to do so
 
I was never a big fan of Disney, even old Disney, (Pixar is an exception) and I was never a fan of Japanese stuff either. So Kingdom Hearts never appealed to me.

Then there's the upcoming DS game, Kindgom Hearts: 358/2 Days. Which is meant to be pronounced "Three-Five-Eight Days over Two." Okay.

And for that matter, what the **** does Infinite Undiscovery even mean? I still haven't figured that one out.
 
I don't really get what they're doing with releasing new games on inconsistent platforms. Their timeline is something like this:

PS2 -> GBA -> PS2 -> Mobile -> PSP = DS = Mobile -> Future game
(original game) -> (1 and 2 linker, card game) -> (sequel) -> (cellphone version of original) -> we're making spinoffs now -> I don't even know

This method is ****ing retarded. Expecting a person to get 2 ps2 games, a gba game, a ds game, and a psp game to follow a series with important story items in all of them is a bit nuts.
 
Is Kingdom Hearts actually any good then? It's the biggest series i've never got round to playing.

It's pretty and button mashy and kind of fun, but don't expect to be blown away. That's my assessment, anyway. Seems like you either love it or you... just like it. I think most people are taken by the setting and insane plot, which is so far separated from anything Disney would ever put out now that it's not even funny.

Anyway, I watched that HD trailer, and yeah, it looks pretty awesome. But there's one thing that keeps bothering me - the keyblades... what the **** is the point of them? They're not even blades, they're just oversized keys with handles. If I put a hilt on a toaster and swing it around, it doesn't make it a toasterblade.
 
Bad hat summed it up quite well.

The combat is standard, nothing special, but I am in love with its mix of disney style of art, and the decent story.

Lol, Birth By Sleep sounds like a really bad screamo band you'd see on MTV2 at 4 AM in the morning.

srsly though I always enjoy the trailers and sometimes even the story of jap rpg's but the games them selfs are ****ing boring .
 
To be fair kingdom hearts is an action rpg and pretty much completely different then most other Jap RPGs.

Plus KH2 had a minigame that might as well be a new star fox game.

I liked the 1st one because of the environments and challenges it brought. I loved the 2nd because the challenges were back, cooler environments, a surprisingly intriguing plot and some badass characters (Organization XIII) and weapons.

Hated it.
Not going to buy this.
Not even close.
I don't understand why it's so popular.
Disney sucks.
 
I just learned that that kid from Sixth Sense plays Sora. That is all.
